Here is a story.

A lost girl is found one day: not by her parents, but by a boy. The boy already belongs to the villain. The lost girl returns, chips away at the villain’s possessions, chips away at the villain’s curse. The lost girl wins, and the villain is defeated.

Or. No. Not defeated. The villain grows, changes, loves. The lost girl builds her family, and the villain finds a way to be a hero. And when they together, they are mighty. Together, they can move the moon and traverse worlds and destroy the vilest of magic. Together, they are unstoppable. Together, they might fall in love.

Together, they are wrenched apart, lest they fall in love. They are paired up with men, insignificant and forgettable, and thrust into stories that will never allow them to be glorious. They are written by men, insignificant and forgettable, and thus they are made to be forgettable as well.

We did not forget them. We did not let them become insignificant.

#because we deserved to have those two meeting at least once in this stupid show #dark swan and the evil queen would have been the ultimate power couple until everyone noticed that dark swan only hangs out with her because she wants to protect regina (and her family) #dark swan tries to hide that she actually cares about regina but she is horrible at that #also at some point dark swan kisses regina (after kissing the evil queen out of frustrating, not knowing that the evil queen was actually regina) #it’s a true loves kiss and because everything is possible, regina breaks emma’s darkness curse and they live happily ever after #thats it that is how ouat ends

Love is weakness, Mother had said, but Emma reaches for Regina’s hands and holds them in her own, warm and steady, and they sit in silence, their hands joined and their eyes locked. “Your mother will always see me as the Evil Queen,” Regina whispers. “She isn’t wrong.”

“Stop,” Emma murmurs back. “Stop calling yourself that. It’s been so many years, Regina. You might be angry, but you aren’t evil. I spent…I spent so many years in the same castle, remember? Hiding away my anger so I could be what everyone needed me to be. You’re the only one who’s ever let me be angry. Who’s wanted me to fight. Do you know what you’ve done to me?”

Regina laughs wetly. “I’m corrupting you.”

“You’re freeing me,” Emma says fiercely, and Regina slides from the wall, drops to her knees so she’s sitting opposite Emma, and presses her lips chastely to Emma’s lips. Love is weakness.

Love is…

It’s a good thing she isn’t capable of love anymore, she decides, and she holds her lips there for a long time, Emma’s eyes drifting closed. Regina’s remain open. She can’t bear to look away.

This is all going to end so soon. Regina knows it, has known it was doomed from the start, and had been free of any protections that might have kept her safe from this well of emotions. This is going to end.

I love swan queen because this isn't just some random ship. Their relationship isn't something that appeared overnight. They've grown together through the seasons, and they've raised their son together. These are two powerful females co-parenting and running a town. Them being TL is poetic and just fitting for the story. Once OUAT is over it's going to be more than worth it to sit back and re-watch their love story play out again and again, just like any other Disney fairytale we have on VHS. Hey SWEN! Once Upon A Time is coming back soon, that means (hopefully) our two idiots are going to be back on screen! Unfortunately is this blog not my only one and everything is going really slowly, that’s why I think we need more members here! What do I have to do to become a part of this blog? Swan Queen is the story. It was always Emma comes to town as the savior and meets mayor Regina. They've hit nearly every branch in the romance trope tree. Fairytale, enemies to friends, consanguinity, etc. Just waiting on gay for you (which subtext already strongly suggests) and then friends to lovers. If this isn't a love story then what is the point?
