Artists similar to The Cure
I’ll add to this post as I find more.
Modern bands similar to The Cure:
-Drab Majesty (similar to their gothier stuff with lots of synth keyboards and bass)
-The Essence (similar to their dreamier stuff like Lovesong and Boys Don’t Cry and the singer sounds just like Robert Smith)
-The Chameleons (very similar rhythm/background noises, slightly similar guitar and vocals)
Bands you’d probably like if you like The Cure:
-Cold Showers (Faith is a great song)
-The Soft Moon (my personal fave songs are Try, Wasting, and Without)
- Cocteau Twins
-The Legendary Pink Dots (Just a Lifetime is a badass song)
-Depeche Mode (especially songs like I Want it All, Precious, etc)
-Sisters of Mercy
-Joy Division
-Bauhaus
-Siouxsie and the Banshees
-Dead Can Dance (synth/wailing guitar/atmospheric-heavy)
-Virgin Prunes
-Skeletal Family
-The Underground Youth (similar to Joy Division vocal-wise)
-Empathy Test
Modern rock bands that are great:
-Nothing but Thieves
-The Horrors

Victorian Tear Catchers
During the Victorian era, mourners sometimes collected their tears in gold decorated “tear bottles” to keep as a remembrance for the next of kin. It has also been said that the widows would go to the grave on the anniversary of the first year of death and sprinkle the tears on the grave to signify the end of the first year of mourning.

Keats quotes that slap
“Fill for me a brimming bowl
And let me in it drown my soul:
But put therein some drug, designed
To banish Woman from my mind”
-‘Fill for me a brimming bowl’
“Can death be sleep, when life is but a dream,
And scenes of bliss pass as a phantom by?
The transient pleasures as a vision seem,
And yet we think the greatest pain’s to die.”
-‘Can death be sleep, when life is but a dream’
“And when thou art weary I’ll find thee a bed
Of mosses and flowers to pillow thy head;
There, beauteous Emma, I’ll sit at thy feet,
While my story of love I entraptured repeat. “
-‘To Emma’
