NOW I REMEMBER!!

Her design is inspired by matadors(and soilders), she supposed to be spanish looking, not latin american.

Im so used to games and movies from usa so I always assume latin america instead of spain.

But with that out of the way.

When speaking about steeotype, Spain is considered to be romantic, especially with flamenco dancers so I wont suprised SSE had it in their head that spanish Sabine should be beautiful. And when people started to thirst for her they leaned more into it.

I really want to hear all your points regarding hating Sabine I’m super curious.

I don't really hate her as a character, I hate how she is written.

I could start off with the fact that she's an incredibly aggressive, "beastly" character who is also non-white, with native american features, which is a harmful stereotype against native americans (See: the violent savage stereotype, not only something apparent in media (Twilight, for example), but real, tangible racism and propaganda in the united states that is still rampant) and even if she's not native american, she's still an aggressive, beastly non-white character, but I don't know if I am the person to make those claims.

Moving on, she's just poorly managed by the company. She's an evil murderer, a person lacking empathy, someone who seeks to destroy Jorvik and all it holds dear because she is promised power... and she's upset that she doesn't get to play with the other kids on the playground. She doesn't like how the riding clubs are mean to each other. She releases balloons because people are having fun. She's either the darkest, most twisted person on the island or she gets her feefees hurt because other people are having fun without her.

The way they write her, she becomes an extreme hypocrite. The other riders are bad and mean for not letting her participate in the games? She imprisoned someone in a world that would slowly and horrifically kill them. Think exposing someone to severe radiation damage knowingly and with malintent. Yet Loretta is a meanie because she thinks Ginny's outfits suck.

The other part of it is the community response. She is sexualized only and merely for her body, with her audience completely ignoring her character, her traits, her personality and her arc, only really acknowledging her "dark" side if they can sexualize it. "but they did it to ydris too", you might claim, ignoring that ydris knowingly, consensually flirted with the main character and took on the persona of someone who enjoyed and wanted the attention. Sabine would hate sabine stans, and the stans ignore that and push her personality aside because she's hot. It's incredibly demeaning to boil her down only to her body and then act as though she is something she's not, namely a person capable of loving anything other than herself and her quest for power, something that is well established in the lore of her character.

The social media team, in response to the fan admiration, has played up Sabine's character and her appearances on their social media sites, and the fandom has gone so far as to influencing the writers into making her more easy to enjoy. The writers (there are no writers at SSE, but that's besides the point) have gone back on what Sabine is meant to be and represent so that the fans will engage with their story more, and the socmed team has pushed her to the forefront of their existence, making several tweets and tiktoks about her and how hot she is. I personally believe that this goes against what any self-appointed feminist company should be doing, and that SSE has a wonderful cast that deserves the spotlight far more. Jill Goldspur, for example, is a queen and she deserves recognition.

All in all, I don't hate Sabine, I hate everything that surrounds her and, as such, I wish she would simply disappear from the story so I don't have to fucking deal with it anymore.

Question: where did you learn she was native american?

I remember she being latin American and the harmful stereotype was that latin women are aggressive.

I also thought the harmful stereotype of latin American women was that they were over sexuilize. And in that case its pretty bad that SSE is using her like this.

But with that said I am not at all surprised that SSE is using her and Ydris for adds and stuff.

They tried to use Soul riders in their prompts but a lot of players dont know who is who of them and just doesnt care.

So when fans put so much focused on Ydris and Sabine SSE quickly took them to use to get more people to interact.

There were a quest where Maya was supposed to watch him but he escaped, broke bunch of stuff and made other horses run away.

Mc had to help clean up and catch the run away horses.

1. I dont remember any nickname for Garnok other than "ancient evil". From the trailer video.

2. In SSL he was taken down by the horse people because he tried taking over Pandoria. What he did before that is a not known.

3. According to SSL the horse people are from Pandoria.

Garnoks planet, Pandoria and earth where different planets, when Garnok attack Pandoria the horse people defeated him and sent him to a prison far away but the spaceship crashed outside of Jorvik.

4. Aideen isnt from Pandoria, neither is Frip. Ydris said the two where strangers to Pandoria just as they are strangers for our world.

In SSL Frip is from Pandoria but isnt allowed to return because he failed to get Garnok to the prison so something like that.

Recently, I started thinking about Aideen, Garnok, Fripp and the like and realized a strange thing. I know facts from somewhere that I can't find on jorvikipedia or in sso or ssl quests

1. Does Garnok really have the nickname "World Eater" (or something like that)? I have not found such information in any quest, although I have met such a nickname more than once. Or is it just a fan version?

2. What happened to Garnok before he was defeated by the humanhorses from the ssl version? Was he just living peacefully on his planet, or was he already conquering other worlds?

3. Are the humanhorses Pandorians or inhabitants of a completely different world?

4. Is Aideen from Pandoria or from another world?

I would be very grateful if someone could help me figure this out! 😭🙏

I have issue with fog not working.

Everything else work but things that work with depth doesnt show up.

It did few times when I pressed O but than it switched back to be the shortcut for the camra.

We do know because horses say they cant talk among people

Jorvik wild horse do say they have to be quiet when outside of wild woods.

So they do talk talk.

So do the soul horses.

Lisa had to tell Evergrey to shut up and Starshine cant respond to him when Evergrey ask questions because they where in New Hillcrest among normal people.

James also know Tin-can can talk.

I dont think it has ever been any moment where it had suggested that there where any mind-reading type of talk.

In SSL maybe, but that isnt canon.

Books mentioned sometimes that they feel calm wash over them from their horses.

But that only been mentioned in the books I think.

But I think other horses have some understanding of human language. There been few horses dialogs where they stump or frust in understanding.

But yeah it mentioned riders from jorvik are one of best riders in the world and I like to think its because the horses straight up do know the routines in competitions.

Even if normal people in jorvik dont realise the horses there knows whats going on.

and like, not shade at all im just continuing the topic, concorde as a humanbrained horse would just already know the dressage program and have it memorised and could do it even without anne. yes, they would still need to wear regulated tack for competitions or for passing among non-magic ppl (and might enjoy wearing competition tack/clothes to look fancy) but overall its not like concorde would need the same type of guidance a regular horse would bc concorde knows the program, knows the movements, and can train them in completely other ways than other horses (you can just tell the horse vocally: hey, can you move your legs kinda like this? etc)

they would still benefit from having this detailed connection (if we assume they cant mind-read anymore) if its like, during a dressage competition anne is guiding concorde with minor adjustments even tho they both already know exactly what to do. its not like having the bridle and the bit would be a hindrance in competition, its something extra on top of concorde already being able to do everything by themself. but its still just not useful outside of it unless youre in specific circumstances (stealth)... bc you dont need to guide a humanbrained horse anywhere, they already know where we're going, you can communicate just as you would if youre out walking or running with a friend.

when it comes to jumping the horse would also be memorising the course along the rider, and if youre training a humanbrained horse in jumping, youd be able to communicate about everything. the horse would be great at figuring out jumps bc it wouldnt be confusing or especially spooky as a humanbrain (much easier to desensitise), and you have a direct communication with the rider without any confusion, for extra guidance when needed...

but at the end of the day, this is a game where we dont even know if we can mind-read with our horses or not, if other ppl can hear them talk, if wildwoods horses or the hollow woods unicorn are talking in the same way as the soul horses, etc, theyre not really clear about how this stuff works and ppl can make their own interpretations

My first thought was it would look wierd without a bridle and cilvilians would ask questions and Soul riders cant say its because their horses are magical and can talk.

My second thought that it might be a good idea to have on secret spy missions or when getting chased. Or other times when saying out loud what the rider wants their horses to do isnt a good idea.

Just to be able to nodge to the right direction.

I dont remember where it was said but it was mentioned somewhere in the context of Concord that the Soul guardians have the personality that their rider need at the time the horse is born.

Concord and Meteor where old and made for the previous soul riders. So they two werent perfect for Anne and Linda.

Concord being reborn would make her fit Anne better.

So I imagine Linda and Annes bond werent as insync as Lisa and Alex had with Starshine and Tin-can.

Also the bond I thought meant more emotional than mind reader. It helped to be on the same page emotionally and help calm down if one of them would spiral.

But they still had to talk about plans and stuff.

my sso hot take is that the soul riders' horses wearing tack is weird and unnecessary. If your horse can speak and you literally don't have a language barrier anymore, you can learn how to respond to each other both verbally and nonverbally a hell of a lot easier. Why stick a bit in Tin Can's mouth or have a saddle on Meteor when they could feasibly be tackless or at least bridleless?? even in areas where the horses can't risk talking out loud the level of understanding is meant to be so high that it shouldn't matter

1. I remember the devs mentioned that they were going to have eyes, nose and mouth seperated at some point but started with face templets in the beginning so they could get the new model into the game.

So the seperated face details are planned.

But consider they also said they would come out with updates of new character animations before new year I dont have high hopes that it will happen any times soon.

2. Im at the point where I dont even read most critcs of updates, neither the good nor the bad.

I just can be bother to care anymore most times.

I know SSO is mostly children playing. But even some of the adults are horrible.

3. I never read Sabine as flirting. More that she sees human as being beneath her and play things.

Ydris litarlly got a body pillow design made of him. (Not physical pillow, just the artwork for a pillow).

But I see him as more manipulate, like a car sellsmen. He says what he need to get people to do what he want.

4? I think the quest updates have gotten a lot better already.

There used to be long periods of nothing, but now SSO keep adding new quests regulary. Im happy with this.

I dont care about Raptor but I get that there needs to be some male singers in the game. So I hope that hes a girl now is false.

I dont care much about any nostalgy for SSO. But I do miss the starshine soundtrack.

i have some opinions on sso to share, so i figured, why not share it with my (i think) 4 followers on tumblr (love yall)?!!

i’m dutch so if you see any english mistakes pretend you don’t <\3

so first of all, sso should really change their character customization.. like individual options for eyes, nose, mouth etc. they’re really trying their best to be inclusive and all and i think that’s good, and definitely an improvement of how sso’s character customization used to be! however i don’t think we should be limited to, idk how many there are, 10? premade faces. (also same thing for the body types) i don’t think i have to elaborate on this, but if i do, just ask idk

so my second opinion is that the community is very rude towards the devs (i have to admit im not the nicest either), we will not get the old team back, like never, and yes i miss them too, like very much, and i think the game has gone to shit, but i don’t see that as a reason to hate EVERY update they give us. like if the old devs had created the same update yall would be hyping them up (however that music thing after a race makes me want to rip my ears off)

3rd is that the “attractive characters” (ahum ahum sabine and ydris) all get those, you know, flirty lines (for example sabine’s entertain me thing, ydris’ dove thing), and like sso makes videos of them themselves, and although i love sabine so much and i make edits of her (which is kind of weird thinking of it now??), sabine is supposed to destroy jorvik not flirt with our character !! if sabine and her design were different characters (please get it idk how to word this), i DEFINITELY wouldn’t have minded her saying those lines to mc, but again, she’s one of the main villains.. (also for ydris i just think it’s weird for a 40+ year old man to call a 16-20 year old girl his “little dove” or something)

and please bring back a team dedicated to quests!! the game is so boring for people who have finished most of the quests and don’t rp (me.)

also the thing with raptor coming back, i’m SO excited because i have missed him a lot !! although someone said he’ll be a girl now?? with a different name? i’m not sure so correct me if i’m wrong

and lastly, they should bring back sergeant tom for the music and johan egerkrans for the art, because no i don’t want to hear calm guitar strumming while racing please, and like there is no art now it’s just 3d models idk (i guess that saves money though?)

There is a crab pet that was added into the game to early and when players interacted with it it cause players games to crash and people wasnt able to log in again.

It been fixed now so there is no bugged crab pet anymore that crashes the game.

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED WHY ARE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT CRABS CRASHING THE GAME I need to log on hold on
