Shit like the Horner situation is the reason why women don't go into motorsports-- or any male dominated environnement, really. Eveytime women are a minority within a group, men do everything to drive women away by harrasing them or humiliating them, even dividing them. Whereas when men enter female dominated environnements, women do everything to accommodate men. The Horner situation is a great reminded that no matter what, men never see women as humans. You could work all your life to finally get the motorsport job you dreamed of, and a man will ruin it for you by reminding you you're just a piece of meat to him and he holds more power than you do. I hope the victim gets the reparations she deserves and I hope Horner will be banned from F1.

As a female who has been sent very similar texts by a male, I can absolutely say that I don’t think I would have had the guts to even stand up to Christian Horner as much as she did. I would have crumpled like a piece of tissue paper. He’s a man, he’s the boss, he’s a big name in F1, he knows everyone in F1. He had power and control in every sense of the word and if you don’t see that, gtfo.
