i’m not going to be on tumblr for a while. this whole situations of lies and racism and calls for mine and my pets’ deaths has been too much on me. i am just climbing out of the shock and depression of losing almost everything i owned and my apartment in the flood from the hurricane. i literally just moved back in after being displaced for months. i have had so much pain to deal with and the fact that anyone thinks i’m not only capable of but have the time to waste on sending people hate and anons and pretending to be other people is downright hilarious. some of you know i have ptsd and i suffer from psychosis which has been a LONG time since i found myself in the depths of but, unfortunately, this situation has triggered quite a few delusions as well as paranoia. i just don’t have it in me anymore. most of you have my new blog and if i haven’t followed you there yet i will soon, but it’s going to be a little while before i feel well and safe here. thank you so much to everyone who has been by my side and stood up for me, i love you guys

I wake up and check your blog to see how you're doing and find out that people are being racist. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. Also, I'm not surprised that that anon said you can't be taino because they're extinct but also told you to prove it. Sometimes what you learn about indigenous people at school is wrong, anon. We have a similar problem of being taught that certain indigenous groups in my state are extinct, but that might not actually be the case.
💘 thank you so much for the sweet ask. many sources are confused and wrong about the taino people. they hear “genocide” and equate it with “dead”. dna and culture and tradition live on. the taino were not all taken out in some brutal sudden attack. they were mostly enslaved, which is (sadly) how they became mixed with other ethnicities. most of the deaths happened to enslaved people who were treated badly or starved. however, of course, a good number of them survived and kept their people and culture alive. it’s very difficult for a whole people to become extinct, and from the 1500s to now is actually not considered a long time at all in the span of humanity and what it takes for a culture to disappear completely or be rewritten
