Prepping for spring shearing by hanging heat lamps for naked sheep. We planned on doing it last weekend but a series of frustrating events prevented it from happening. Hopefully we’ll find time again soon however lambing is right around the corner within the next few weeks probably!! https://www.instagram.com/p/BvdFVQ1AMRk/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1dkkxxgr8zl8g

Family weekend fun. Sledding and shoveling out fence lines. There’s a good 3 feet still on the ground in some places (see picture) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu4Q3NeAIAt/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=nl8t8fha5vsl

Ok, HELP! This pup and his humans have had enough. There’s a squirrel that somehow keeps getting into the house and we can’t get rid of it. We’ve tried a live trap, mouse traps, and even yucky poison... Every time Aspen is out of the house, the darn thing gets into the kitchen and poops on the counters... need suggestions. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsY8w8oAzkB/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=djjleitnsz0j

One of the most interesting parts about sheep farming has been getting to know the grasses our sheep graze on and the difference between cuts throughout the summer and fall. The more yellow, stalky hay on the right is the first cut off the fields and is less nutritious for the sheep. The greener hay on the left is the second cut and is more nutritious for them. In the past, we’ve only fed second cut throughout the winter months but this year were mixing first and second in an attempt to stretch our crop a bit further. So far they seem ok with it and are still healthy and fat. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsYIhYRAAsi/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1h6kw6buhzro1
