ㅤyou should've been there,
ㅤshould've burst through the door,
ㅤwith that 'baby I'm right here' smile,
ㅤand it would've felt like,
ㅤa million little shining stars had just aligned,
ㅤand I would've been so happy.
I was dreaming. I am dreaming. My hands are smeared with my poisonous dreams. I dreamed I was me. I dreamed I was another. Between the two dreams there's no connection. Dreams give me strength. Dreams take away my strength. Women of my dreams, don't betray me, help me ! Can a dead woman dream she's living again while dreaming her most mutilated dreams? Maybe now the hour of death has come, as my daughter Electra wanted, in the name of truth and family order. If i die dreaming possibly I'll die happy. And yet is that a dream of life or a life of dreaming? Somewhere, among dead dreams, I will keep on living, to keep on dreaming.
ㅤsometimes the hero stumbles
ㅤand falls right off of the page,
ㅤsometimes the princess rolls her eyes
ㅤand says "i don't want to be saved."
ㅤsometimes the dragon needs rescuing
ㅤand the villain aches to be helped,
ㅤsometimes, in the darkness,
ㅤthe lost boy finds himself.
ㅤsometimes the prince is cunning,
ㅤand not at all what he seemed.
ㅤsometimes the witch's kindness
ㅤshows it's she who deserves to be queen.
ㅤsometimes we shouldn't define people
ㅤby someone else's point of view-
ㅤjust because it's what we've been told,
ㅤdoesn't make it true.

I want to talk about what happened without mentioning how much it hurt. There has to be a way. To care for the wounds without reopening them. To name the pain without inviting it back into me.
