Fallen Hero

{{You Are Part of A Machine You Are Not a Human Being}}

Mochi, once known as the vigilante Sidestep, was thought to be killed in action during the Heartbreak Incident. However, that was far from the truth. A cuckoo Re:Gene, Mochi was captured and forced away from the hero life he thought he adored. Escaping again, he realized that the life of a hero, the life of Sidestep was not who he was. His friends were fake, they didn’t come for him. No one would come for him, no one would protect him. Only he could protect himself. Only he could avenge the naïve boy that Mochi Madoka used to be.

Thus the villain, Anathema, was born. This verse is tagged under v;; you are part of a machine;; you are not a human being Short bio under the cut!

Anathema- A Known Anarchist. Destroyed the Hero’s Exhibit during his attack on the museum. 

Secret Identity: Mochi Madoka Gender: Male Description: An average, mixed (Asian and Caucasian) man in his thirties with hazel eyes and short and wild kinky red hair. He has a single piercing in one ear. His sense of style is nondescript and casual. Mochi Madoka is a seasoned, tech-savvy fighter.

Telepathy Strength of Mind: 72% Subtle Manipulations: 76%

Armored Suit Anathema's suit is terrifying to look at, a monster garbed in forbidden science. In its left hand, the suit has a neutered colony of nanovores functionally similar to having a disintegration touch, as well as being equipped with telepathic boosters and enhanced speed, as well as jump-jets.

Psychological Profile Mochi chooses to be more arrogant and rarely maintains consistent levels of anonymity. He is a strong mixture of ruthless and empathetic depending on what the situation calls for at any given time. He often throws caution to the wind, acting on impulse that threatens his otherwise careful planning.

Main Puppet Name: Robin Puppet Status: fine Robin’s Description: A tall, mixed man in his twenties with hazel eyes and long wavy mint green hair. Robin is engaged in an affair with Dr. Mortum, for as Mochi deems it “appearance sake” whether Mochi holds any real feelings towards the scientist remains unclear. Is friends with Ortega.

Relationships (Disclaimer: This is only by the choices i made, none have to be canon to interactions)

Mochi and Ortega: A complicated attraction, had a thing in the past and currently in good standing with each other. Mochi is trying to keep all of the Rangers as close as he dares (Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer), but cannot work out if his attraction to Ortega is him still clinging to the past, him chasing some sort of high, or him holding a genuine fondness still for Ortega.

Mochi and Lady Argent: The relationship between Mochi and Lady Argent is respectful, with a purely physical attraction. Lady Argent is considered Anathema’s nemesis, with her interest in him high. Lady Argent knows that Mochi is Anathema.

Mochi and Marshal Steel: Another complicated attraction, Mochi got closer to Steel on complete accident. A shared fondness for dogs, a shared exhaustion for the hero life, and tired of fighting each other, they tried to spark a friendship. However, it grew into more, much to boths confusion and frustration. Mochi is planning to ruin Steel’s reputation as Anathema, but these new complicated feelings are not helping matters. Mochi isn’t sure what he’s doing, whether he is chasing highs or if he is starting to feel something true.

Mochi and Herald: Mochi has almost come to see Herald as an annoying little brother. Almost. The hero idolizes what Mochi used to be, and nurses a puppy dog like crush on him. Mochi doesn’t encourage the crush, but does not try and shoot it down with hopes of using it in the future.

Mochi and Mia Ochoa: Kept at arms length, the report is used as source of information and to further Mochi’s image. Little more than that.

Anathema and Hollow Ground: The two have agreed to work together, with Hollow Ground viewing Anathema as a useful recruit. Mochi, however, is curious to learn more of Hollow Ground given their similar genetic features. He believes more may be going on than either of them are aware of.

Mochi’s main verse, set during the events of Deadman Wonderland’s story. Mochi, or Robin, is an inmate of G-Ward, and has been since 2018. He were one of the first Deadmen shoved down into G-Ward after being arrested at the age of 17 for the murder of over 100 people during a gymnastics competition, after supposedly just “snapping.” He quickly became a fan favorite amongst those watching the Carnival Corpses.

Mochi lost their tongue after losing a Carnival Corpse against the Mockingbird two years earlier, and thus communicates through a tablet that both functions as his MP3 player, but as a text-to-speech system.  Mochi currently runs with Scar Chain, running their tech (he can be considered a replacement for Rokuro in this canon). He is also working as a spy for Genkaku. Tagged under v;; you can be alice

Secondary verse for Mochi that takes place after the events of Deadman Wonderland. Mochi is no longer imprisoned for their crimes, having used the inheritance money he claimed to bribe and threaten his way out of prison. Now Mochi lives jobless, surviving off the inheritance money and in a small two bedroom apartment on his own.

it is a boring life, but it is theirs. Though Mochi is struggling to deal with the PTSD and Trauma from the years spent in Deadman Wonderland, and G-ward. Now that life is no longer a constant fight for survival, they don’t know what to do with it.

Because while my muse may be a sinner, they have some redeeming virtues as well!

1. What is the proper balance of pragmatism and compassion for your friends when choosing who remains on your team?

“The proper balance is making sure you aren’t actively using pokemon you know are going to get killed and making sure you’re not solely relying on the power of friendship or whatever. Trust me, its not easy to make the decision to boot someone. But when you’re in a region like Aevium, facing what I faced, you make the hard decisions and you make them quickly. A team member gets injured severely, and can’t keep up because of it? I love them but they have to stay on the bench to be safe now. I’ve lost good teammates because I thought that since they were my pokemon, we were invincible. That’s not how the world works.

Strong pokemon will die just as a fast as weak pokemon. Someone will always take advantage of the slightest edge. Friendship isn’t always going to be some magical force that saves the day. Sure it can help you and your pokemon keep fighting, but it never guarantees that you’re going to win. Trusting to hard on “the power of friendship” is exactly what got me dropped in fucking lava.”

6. Ten-year-olds have been known to take down evil teams, and to take on many adult responsibilities. Should we push back the legal age at which a child becomes an adult?

“No. Absolutely not. A ten year old isn’t grown up enough to be considered an adult whether they have the strength to take on full evil teams or handle an adult’s job better than whatever pathetic adult they took it from. People might find this disagreeable, but we need to stop treating kids like they’re incapable of doing anything well. I’ve met some kids in my life who could literally kick my ass in a fight.

In fact I got my ass kicked by a 14 year old little shit stain once. Kids aren’t exactly the talentless useless little babies everyone acts like they are? Kids can handle so many things so much better than so many of us tragic fucking adults. That being said it doesn’t mean they should be handling adult level responsibilities. Cause you know what the ability to handle chaos is? Its a trauma response. Maybe instead of getting kids a god damn government position, we should get them some therapy?”

10. Trainers have grown so powerful that they can singlehandedly defeat the likes of Legendaries. How much power should a single Trainer be allowed to have?

“Guess that depends on what they’re using it for? Its a little hard to just. Limit someone’s power. Odds are if someone can single handedly take down a Legendary pokemon, they don’t need their full team to do it. Even then, how do you stop people with inherent abilities like mine? Can’t exactly prevent a psychic from being psychic, or a deadman from being a deadman.

Maybe instead of asking how much power someone should be allowed to have, you start asking how we handle those who have that much power. Especially the one’s who come off really sweet and kind with a heart of gold. Those are the ones you need to watch out for the most. Given how Spirit proved that those kinds of people can be the worst kinds of villains.”

15. In some countries, civilians are allowed to have Pokémon, but not to have guns. Is possession of a gun or possession of a Pokémon more dangerous?

“That’s so....stupid? No really that’s a stupid thing to try and compare? Both guns and pokemon are capable of killing a massive amount of people in a short amount of time. They’re both the same level of dangerous really. Granted I don’t know maybe I just have my foot in my mouth given I, without a gun or a pokemon, could kill hundreds of people in mere minutes.

Seriously though why was this a question? Why is this even something that people compare??”

What is the proper balance of pragmatism and compassion for your friends when choosing who remains on your team?

If you had to choose between a Pokémon you really like but who isn’t as strong versus a Pokémon you’re less bonded to but who is stronger, which would you pick?

It was said in one of the Pokémon books of Pokémon who do evil things, “Pokémon only bad because master bad.” Agree or disagree?

Is the desire “to be the very best, like no one ever was” an overall positive thing for the world?

Will Psychics and mediums always be the best at training Psychic- and Ghost-type Pokémon respectively, or can someone with no powers reach their level and be held in equal respect?

Ten-year-olds have been known to take down evil teams, and to take on many adult responsibilities. Should we push back the legal age at which a child becomes an adult?

Should shiny hunting be an accepted practice? 

When should the Trainer listen to their Pokémon, and when should they take control of a situation?

How much responsibility should a Champion have in the matters concerning their region?

The Coordinating circuit is known for having lots of plastic surgery. Do you think plastic surgery is a valid option to succeed, or would you rather see celebrities be their natural selves?

Vigilante justice seems to be all the rage with Pokémon Trainers these days. Who do you think should be most responsible for justice: the people or the League? Or should they both share the same responsibility?

What mechanisms should exist to hold Leagues accountable if they don’t do their jobs?

What with all the kids running around solving everyone’s problems, can Leagues still be trusted as leaders of our communities?
