05.) Kikuo is a vocalic producer who started in early 2013, before that he wrote touhou donjin music in a group called Iemitsu. Hanatan is a popular utaite on and and youtube who's produced cover albums under the name YURiCa before collaborating with Kikuo.
06.) This album and its act 2 have very sporadic yet consistently dark themes. I don't think you can put a genre on kikuos music but all it is so distinctly him you can tell immeditaely.
06.) I went with a starry/space theme because of how otherworldly the sound is.

Scum
The Flowers- surrounded by Love, but not in love, a fictional idea of love.
The Water- Cleansing, purity
The Expression- sick, tired, weak, dazed
The Dress- purity
The Candles- burning for a while, reused candles, been here before and for a while
The Flower Petals- unreciprocated love
Red Eyes- Passion
Lighting
Pink Glow vs Yellow Glow- 2 sides to a situation
Dark Background- submerges her and surrounds the subject in emptiness
Angle- dual perspectives, makes the viewer fall into the picture
Colors
Complimentary Main Colors
Pink- love
Dirty Yellow- Dirty, Gross
Triadic Accent Colors
Primary colors- to make the flowers stand out from the rest of the piece although I overlaid them with a pink filter to have them be absorbed into the red-black background.
Tone
Desaturated colors- melancholy, fragile, tired, decomposing, jaded, heartbroken

I tried to do something different with an inking perspective but it didn't work too well. I still like how it came out and I did find new techniques well overcoming the inking issue. I really like how I rendered my eyes in this and I enjoyed working off the line art instead of just the picture. I’ve always been fond of loose and sculpted paintings.

I really enjoyed painting this project. I never get to do photorealism or backgrounds digitally so this was a fun project to work on and do something different with.

I’m excited I got to do this because I’ve never utilized the smudge tool before. I also am planning to use this for mental reference for rendering pretty much everything now.

my process to painting my face.

Before my best friend moved away in 9th grade we went to our favorite dollar store and bought stuffed animals together. So my sheep (mili) is a sentimental object to me. I feel extremely limited without blending tools but I think once I zoomed out and stopped really caring about how it’d look printed on giant poster paper I started to become okay with the process.

I did a second self portrait because I wasn't happy with the first one I did. I wanted to work harder and get better at portraits so I wasn’t satisfied with my first try. I’m much happier with this result though I can see a lot of issues I’d like to fix.

I've never saved selections before but I have done limited palette projects similar to this. It was incredibly helpful to learn how to open multiple selections at once and be able to save them. I tend to be extremely unorganized so this project will undoubtedly help with that.
