As the original mod, I am not into Yakuza or RGG anymore. What happened in 2019 - 2020 in the community has made me dislike the series as a whole. 

I’ll leave this blog up as archives for people to find older content. It will no longer be updating.

This post contains Yakuza 5 spoilers, please don't read if you don't want to be spoiled.

Here's some tea that needs to be spilled.

Now, I know that a lot of people hate Mirei Park. And what are their reasons why? "She's a bitch. She forced Haruka into the idol business. She's manipulative." These are all the arguments people have against her.

But yet, the same people who hate Mirei praise other male characters who have done much worse things. For example, praising Majima even though he groomed a teenage girl, married her as soon as she turned 18, and then physically assaulted her. Yet everyone stays silent about this because "Majima is a smol pure bean who would never do anything wrong UwU!!1!!1!1!1!"

If Mirei was a male character no one would bat an eye. You know why? It's misogyny, that's why. No one likes to admit it, but it is.

No one cares if a male in the game kills a bunch of people, but yet when a female character has a small slip up, everyone focuses on it.

It's not only ridiculous, but also very, very sad that even in 2019 we think so little of women.
