This is a series I’m planning to write during my free time, so please enjoy yourselves for a ride of a lifetime with this story I wrote.
A Mother’s Prayer
Chapter 1
The sun rose in the morning signifying a new day, a new dawn, a genesis. I woke up from the sheets to stretch and go through my daily routine. My daily routine, that is, to pick the maids around the castle walls as they try to chase me to put a dress on me. This time I woke a bit early, it was a special occasion for a special day. It was my sister’s birthday. I snuck into her room and gave her quite a scare after I said a loud “good morning”. But then it ultimately led to her scolding me in the most intelligent way possible that it was hard to understand her. My sister is a very smart girl, she knew more than I did. As for combat, she never knew a thing about it.
After bothering my own sister into saying good morning, the maids finally found me and stuck me in a really tight dress. I hated that dress, that dress made it hard for me to breathe, but I could still manage the tightened corset of anger from my maids as it is their way of scolding me to become a good obedient princess. Once I was caught with my mischievous ongoings, a presence emerged from the room. It wasn’t the sunlight, it was no one other than our mother. She scolded me into how unladylike I was to do such mischievous manners around the castle. I put up with her anger by sticking my tongue out in response, but she couldn’t help other than to let me be who I am, in which I respected most about her. Her demeanor is usually calm however. Not only does she have beautiful blue eyes and gold blonde hair, but she is the most well-respected queen among the kingdom. I once also heard legends of how she saved the entire kingdom on her own since she was born with a sacred power that has been passed down to future queens and princesses in the process.
It was time! My sister’s birthday! It was exciting to see the new guests, but my sister was really shy. So instead I held her hand and dragged her to meet one of the aristocrats of the kingdom. All of them adored how great of a big sister I am and I was also told that I was full of courage. Then a cling from a spoon to the cup was heard as our father decided to make the speech on my sister’s birthday. So then I pulled my sister back to our spots next to our father and mother and I began to listen to father’s booming voice. Our father was a loud and proud man and yet still humble and that was what our mother liked about him the most. A humble and well-respected man.
“As I, King Bospheramous Hyrule will now announce my daughter, Princess Zelda’s 6th birthday to the utmost special. She is quite studious and I am proud to have a daughter like her as well as I am proud of my other daughter, Princess Heilda. With speech I will now announce that Zelda from now on will be trained by her mother, my Queen, to awaken the sacred power within her to protect us from future harm.” After the whole speech I was shocked to hear that my sister also has the sacred power. My sister looked at me with a confused look as to why she was mentioned to be trained. She probably thought I was the one born with it. To be honest, I actually knew she had that sacred power, it’s just that she hasn’t realised it. I once got hurt by a thorn that pricked me, but I didn't tell my sister about it until she found out that I had the wound when it caught her eye. Then she held my injured hand to show our mother. As our mother inspected my hand, she found nothing. It is as if nothing had happened to me previously. Until now, it is when I realized that my sister has the sacred power right after my father’s speech.
Later within the evening, I saw my mother praying to a statue that stood within the courtyard’s lavish garden. The garden had fifty different types of flowers and most of them were in my mother’s favorite color, red. Then I noticed that one of them was starting to look pale, but I did not pay attention to it since a lot of flowers do that and regrow over time.
Next morning, I heard crows. They were from my mother’s garden and they started to pick the flowers from the courtyard. My anger rose and I shooed them away. All that was left was four pretty flowers. Then my mother came in. She was sad that the flowers were picked off, but she knew that they could be replanted once again. With a sigh from her she looked to me, “Heilda, my little warrior, I want to give you a special mission.” “What is it mommy?” “I want you to protect your sister, Zelda, for me.” “Why?” “Well, it’s because you’re her big sister after all, and all big sisters should look out for their little sisters.” I stood there for a minute to process what my mother told me and then I shook my head in agreement. “Shh” my mother hushed. “Don’t tell anyone about this special mission, okay?” “Okay!”
While my sister was being trained, I was also being trained into combat. The hot Gerudo Desert didn’t stop me from going through my training. I kept going and going until my aunt told me to stop. My Aunt is one of my mother’s closest friends and she visits from time to time. She was a huge tall lady with red hair and she had pointy ears like us. I always looked up to her and admired her swordsmanship and so I took on the training to adapt and to hone my aunt’s swordsmanship skills. I worked each day and night with her. I managed to pull through the training and after a month I was sent back home.
I was greeted by my sister. Not excitedly, but in worry. News came that our mother collapsed during a training session with my sister and became bed ridden. The disease or illness was unknown, but all I knew is that I needed to see her right away. My mother waved her hand as she smiled weakly to hug me as I came back home from training with my aunt. My aunt also came by to spend some time with her and to talk about the olden days.
“Urbosa, I know this might sound unwell, but my time is running out.” “What do you mean my dear friend?”
“Please watch for my little bird and my little warrior.”
Urbosa closed her eyes and sighed as I watched her hold my mother’s hand, as my father did the same. I did not understand what had happened, but rather I assumed that my mother just fell asleep since she needed rest. By the next hour, I came back to the room with one of the maids covering her with a black silked blanket. “Hey! That’s not my mommy’s favorite blanket! And why are you covering her?!” The maid did not say anything and she continued as to what she was doing. I went to my mother and tried to wake her up. “Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! Wakie wakie!” I peeled off the blanket and I shook my mother to wake her up. “Mommy I’m not playing, can you please wake up?” Nothing. Her face is in a state of tranquility. As soon as I touched her face I felt a shock.
“Mommy, why is your face so cold? Mommy?” Nothing. Then I realized my mother couldn’t wake up anymore. I stood there in shock as the maid covered my mother with a blanket once again. “I’m sorry Princess.” Silence filled the room as my mother’s body was being transported into a casket. My father saw me in the room and started to scold me, “Heilda! You’re not supposed to be in this room young la-” My father stopped and looked at my lifeless face. Tears appeared on my cheeks, but not a single sound was made. My father asked if I was alright, but I did not answer. I only stood there and tried to process what was happening with the scenario that happened earlier. My sister, who was beside my father, had no clue what had happened to our mother. “Heilda, where’s mommy going?” Nothing. My father eventually answered for her, “Well Zelda...” My father stood on one knee. “Your mother is going through a deep sleep.” “Is she going to wake up?” “I’m afraid not...” Zelda started crying, while I stood there in silence.
During the funeral I stood there. In nothingness. All I could think about is the secret mission my mother gave me and wondered about the reason behind it, doubting her reasoning as to why I should guard my sister. Everyone else left except me and my sister. My sister looked at me, “Heilda I feel cold. We should probably go home or else we’ll catch a cold.” Then she walked away and went to her room. I stayed behind and all I felt was numbness. The cold did not bother me, nor being alone bothered me. I wanted to say I was cold and that I wanted my sister to be with me, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t say a word. I felt like I lost my will to talk. Then I thought of the mission my mother gave me and it was enough to give me strength to continue my training. To be my mother’s eyes and to protect my sister was my mother’s prayer.

Teanli and Revali Modern AU Setting
Here’s an AU where Revali and Teanli are both Hylians living in a more modern setting.
Hope this makes up for the angst I wrote...
Another day, another Friday. A five star restaurant famous for its gourmet styled food. A waitress with a goal to be a chef one day is taking her orders on a blink of an eye. Then later returns each table with a hot plate. Every guest within the restaurant loved the food, but someone is having a bit too much enjoyment at the moment...
A man with fiery blue hair and 4 locks with a handsome look decided to be drunk within the night at the restaurant. He was the only one in his table and had too much to drink. And oh boy... oh boy he did not dare to interrupt the waitress’s work hours. And so he did.
“Heeeeeyyyyy, there beautiful... Check it, I already have 5 championships completed in first place for archery hic...”
He looked at the waitress up and down and skimmed through her entire outfit. She had a collar tree tucked into loose dark pants with a lap apron at the front with two pockets used for her pen and pad to take her orders and on the side of her apron has a small rag used to wiping dirty surfaces on tables.
The girl winced.
“Uhhhh, Sir I have to get back to work, could you please get your hands off of me tha-“
Then he proceeds to collapse.
She taps him. “Sir! Sir! Are you alright?!”
“Heh. hic Ain’t this asinine...”
After the waitress’s shift was done she decided to take the man on her shoulder to bring him to the back of her car in favor of trying to bring him home. But it was no use for him to talk since he passed out. So she decided to bring him to her apartment.
Next morning.
“Hey! Wake up!” She splashed him with water.
“AH! Well I’ll be plucked! Where am I?”
“Let’s just say you had too much to drink and my boss told me to take you back to your place and I had no choice, but it was no use since you passed out. So yeah, welcome to my apartment...”
“Hold on there, you’re saying I’m in ‘your’ apartment?”
“Yes”
“As in your own nest?”
“Yes”
“A girl’s place?”
“YES!!! And how long will you keep this up?”
“Not until you admit I’m handsome, beautiful...”
“Okay, no no I’m not doing this...” She shoves him out the door. “Out! Out!”
“Slow down there cranky wacker noodle! I didn’t get to know your name.”
“It’s Teanli, now get out!”
She attempts to slam the door, but luckily ‘he’ caught it.
“Name’s Revali, thanks for looking out for me.” wink
“Sure...” For a moment she looked into his emerald eyes of his, but then she denied the fact he looked somewhat handsome and shook her head.
“Just get out...” Slams door.
”Sheesh, she’s a tough one... Well I’m up for challenges anyways and ‘I’ always win them...”

Here’s a scenario of what I think would happen if one of champions happens to be corrupted. This is an au that involves my oc which makes it twice the angst.
Booming sounds, corrupted guardians, tears, wailing, and screaming had filled all the soft and sweetness of bird songs all of Hyrule. One by one everyone tried to escape the calamity’s impending doom, most of them died. Lo, the champions seem to struggle with their battles as they fight their uninvited guests within their divine beasts.
A Rito, who recently became a warrior due to need of more to fight within the war, went flying in search for the Rito Champion himself. She tried to force herself into the blizzard to try to find him. But before that, she was assigned to act as a chef and a nurse to prepare meals and to watch over wounded warriors, but this time she wasn’t on duty. Luckily, someone took her place so she can search for the Rito Champion. The wind was so strong it nearly took her off flight, but she kept going no matter how much the frost bit her. This Rito takes on the name as a titled chef, but yet accepted to be a part of the battlefield. Her name is no one other than Teanli, a known chef among the Rito, but has yet to succeed in being a world known chef. To put that aside, she finally found the divine beast. So then she put force behind her wings to go to the divine beast. There, she can find Rito Champion with a hidden smile struggling to fight his uninvited guest on Vah Medoh.
“Revali!” She called out to him.
“Here! Take this!” She shoots him an arrow since she noticed he shot his last one. Then Revali caught the arrow in a blink of an eye then shot it at the beast.
“What are you doing here, you’re supposed to be with the others!”
“Well isn’t it my job to take care of all the Rito?!” She gave him a look.
“True- but there’s no time to waste! This abomination here likes to play dirty and go back! I don’t need your help! I can do this alone!”
But before Revali was able to make another move a laser beam had shot him.
“Tch! Just a scratch!” Then he fell off and plummeted to the ground creating a boom sound. Teanli went and rushed to help Revali get back up.
“Are you alright?” She said worriedly. “Here let me-“
“I don’t need your help!” He snapped. “Can you not see I’m trying to prove-“
“Prove?! PROVE WHAT?! By hurting yourself so that you can be better than that knight?!”
“Teanli I have no time for this! Just go!”
“NO, I REFUSE TO LEAVE YOU!”
Then Revali flew off ignoring her and still continued his fight with the creature on Vah Medoh. Then he realizes he ran out of bows. Caught off guard, he didn’t realize that part of the beast’s malice went onto him. Then dizziness dispelled his concentration of his tack tics of trying to kill the beast.
“Arg!! This thing! It’s trying to consume me! I will not let this happen! I will not let this happe-“ “This isn’t possible...”
Spirals of malice surrounded Revali corrupting both his mind and soul. No matter how hard he tried to fight it off he was still infected it was no use. Right at that moment Teanli came over and saw the beast infusing itself to the Champion. She shot the beast and it made screeching noises of distilled pain.
“Revali! You can fight it off! I know you’re stronger than that!”
But was too late. His mind was already taken over by the corruption and no longer resembled his once proud and pompous demeanor. Now he resembles a broken spirit ready to consume anything in its path.
“Revali, no...”
Tears in her eyes as she saw her once dear beloved friend and lover turned into an infused form of malice. She was afraid, but she knew she had to fight him. So she took her arrows and begun to shoot him. It was no use he caught them in a blink of an eye. Then he stretched and caught Teanli by the wing ready to consume her. But then, the corrupted Champion’s glowing pupil-less eyes look at Teanli. Teanli was in tears seeing Revali this way. Much to her surprise he too had a share of his tears that fell on her beak.
“Te...an..li.. I’m... sorry...” He says this in a tone that can’t comprehend into actual words, but Teanli can tell what he was saying through his eyes.
“I’m sorry... making.. you.. cry.”
“For...give me...”
Then he decided to throw Teanli off of the no longer divine beast as now the controller is now a corrupted champion.
