Since I’ve been 12, I have been struggling with depression and anxiety, there was days I didn’t want to leave my room, I didn’t want to talk to my own parents and didn’t want anything to do with the outside world. I lost everything, my friends including my best friend, yes even some of my family but worst of all I completely lost myself. I was so far down into the darkness I didn’t believe I was going to make it alive out of this situation. I looked at myself very much feeling ugly, useless, and most times I felt id never measured up to anything good. Only one thing kept me distracted, made me like I wasn’t alone, made me believe that I was good for someone... something, and that person was Taylor. Reputation came out in 2017 which helped me realize that I don’t need to be perfect to outcome the darkness in the world, that there is always going to be bad to come with the good. And it’s okay to hurt over it. Then August 23rd Taylor came out with Lover and it taught me to love myself before loving anything and everyone else. It taught me that I’m the light and I can break threw the darkness if I believed in myself.. today I still struggle with anxiety and depression but I’m so much closer to being able to move past it and it’s because of Taylor, she’s made my life easier to carry, and honesty she helped make it easier to face. Her music is powerful and meaningful in so many ways no one can understand without truly looking into the fine details of her lyrics. Her music inspires people mostly us swifties that we can overcome anything and everything if we truly believe in ourselves. I’m just so greatful to have such an amazing artist and hope Taylor can see that she is more wonderful then she truly knows. She makes a difference in the world with her music which is why she is ARTIST OF THE DECADE. 💗
