Okay sdkjhsjdh sorry for being tremendously late but the sharpen i used is long deleted, regardless, I’ll share my basic settings: 

Smart Sharpen 500 - 0.3 (set to 50% opacity) Gaussian blur - 1 (adjust this according to how dewy or sharp looking you want your sharpening to be) topaz clean + denoise (can’t say settings for these, i just kinda mess around with both of them until i get what i want) Smart Sharpen 500 -0.2 (adjust opacity accordingly) Gaussian blur -0.1-1 (again, adjust depending on the final texture you want)

my besties i know the "everything tumblr puts out is shit" agenda is strong but can we stop freaking about this mp4 compression thing. It's not as bad as y'all are making it out to be.

since Tumblr currently compresses to gifv format for faster loading (which gave us an upload limit increase), this is what causes the bad quality when you post on tumblr. You know what would happen if it compressed to mp4 loops instead? It would actually be better. Because an MP4 file is higher quality than a gif file, and especially a gifv file. if Tumblr implements this well (which had always been a hit or miss, but oh well), then that extra lq-ness we get when we upload to Tumblr will be reduced, and will also result in a potential mb increase. Twitter follows this same system, and they can upload upto like, 30mb, and their gifs aren't usually pixelated compressed shit. 

This is not as bad as y'all are freaking out about.
