so, uh, as some of you know, there's been a reason why i haven't been posting... this year is determined to ruin my family's life it seems. she's okay, but my mom had stroke like symptoms not this wednesday but the one before. i took her into the er and thankfully, no stroke, but they found a large benign tumor behind her eyes instead. on monday, she had basically what amounts to minor brain surgery, and yesterday, was allowed to come home. so my last week has been hell, for all of us. the good news is my family is all together for a bit and she's recovering very well, and for that i can't be grateful enough.

#ooc tbt #bad news is i think i stressed my way into a thyroid slump but honestly compared to the fact that i haven't lost both my #parents in a year and didn't have to become the guardian of my minor brother... that's nothing #definitely for me though... other than waiting to hear if she'd make it was writing her will that was the worst part #like i can't describe how sick i felt #thank god nothing happened #and that despite the fact she wants a more thorough will... i won't ever have to write it again!

                    not that the distance soothed her fears any more than now, but this was one of many reasons she sought assignments as far flung from her family’s reach as possible.   there, she could hesitate, there she could pull away, but here?   anything less that perfect compliance wasn’t possible.

          hesitation would have been dealt with punishment. hesitation would have been dealt with harshness. as to why, that was to show the rest that no one was above disobeying and that compliance was of the utmost priority. No matter who you were or what rank you were, orders still had to be followed - that was key.

         “You’re to accompany me when you get back.”

          It was both an order and a comment, but more importantly, a request. Such an action, which was done out of courtesy, rather than formal regard for rank and file. It was one that would be obeyed without question and more specifically, with little to no hesitation.
