There is this black gay guy on Twitter who absolutely hates Interview With The Vampire, simply because it shows an interracial couple.
This guy gets real angry at any show or movie that features an interracial couple. He only celebrates media that shows black love, but he doesn’t care if that love is toxic. It can be a show where the black woman is treated like absolute shit by her partner. He just wants to make sure the partner is black. It’s very weird. I saw the same shit with P Valley. People were acting like Keyshawn would be in a better circumstances, if the person who was abusing her was black instead of white.
I just find it funny when i see rants from this guy. Cause he is fighting against something that is enviable. The internet and social media has made the world smaller. Now someone in the USA can have a relationship with someone on the other side of the globe. Interracial Relationships aren’t lowering but increasing. Also, most people with a brain, can see through the bullshit propaganda y’all put out.
Antoinette isn’t the married one, Lestat is, therefore he owes Louis loyalty, BUT BUT
B.F.F.R. right now. She knew they were together from jump, okay? She even said it when she and Lestat were fooling around in their house all in Louis’ face years ago. She knew. Also, Louis never did anything but show her respect, and he let her keep her job when he took over that club. Even if he didn’t think they were besties, he probably thought she was better than to sleep with his partner, but she did it for years pre-assault, all in his face, and she does it now when she knows it’s a “secret.” I mean, if she knows Lestat has her stashed out of town after Louis kicked her door down, then she doesn’t think Louis and him have an open arrangement presently, (hello! that’s why she had to give up a finger) so she knows she’s doing something wrong. She just doesn’t care.
Nah baby, ain’t nobody blaming her for a man’s poor choices, we’re blaming her for her own poor choices. A cheating domestic abusing asshole is terrible, but a side chick who sits around offering him comfort and basically egging him on, doesn’t get a pass either.
What IWTV creative team did with Antoinette was call out every single straight girl who has done stupid shit for a tall slender man with a full head of hair.
Okay, but can we talk about familial toxicity, especially from mothers in the Black family unit, and how it affects children? The traumatizer usually gets more sympathy than the one being traumatized and we're just left with "she's your mother" or "she didn't mean it". Gotta love Southern Christian hypocrisy.
Am I the only one who remembers how much they physically fought in the books?
Lestat's so evil! He physically hurt Louis!
Yeah? Louis fuckin' burnt his house down like... three times. And at least one of those times he was fine with it if Lestat died. Am I the only person who remembers that?
We're not supposed to think they're RELATIONSHIP GOALS, okay? And in all fairness, this episode tried to show the neglect and emotional abuse Louis was continuously doing - albeit, Jacob Anderson has the face of a god damned angel and he could spit on me and I would thank him. So it's easy not to notice.
Lestat reacted to neglect. Did he react well? No. Is he a monster? Yes. Does it totally make sense and is it within his character in the books? 100 fucking percent.
Side note: Daniel bitch-slapping Louis is my favorite change.
