Hello everyone! I’m Beka/Bec and this is Ali aka Al aka Aladdin. I’m 25 and I’m from the future (GMT+11). If you have any plot ideas please hit me up! Also hit me up with your cute puppy pictures because i’m trash for dogs. Cats are fair game too. More about Ali under the read more!
NAME:
Ali (Al) Abdelmalek. Al’s reasoning behind picking his surname is a little cheeky on his end. In Arabic, Abdelmalek translates to servant of the king. Aladdin’s ancestors were previously servants at the royal palace, that is until his great grandfather began to have sticky fingers with some of the sultan’s goldware. It’s a bit of a cheeky nod to those who have oppressed him in the past and continue to do so. It’s kind of his way of claiming the title for himself.
BIRTHDAY & AGE: January 20th. 26 years old.
GENDER IDENTITY & PRONOUNS: Male. He/him.
FACE CLAIM: Taylor Zakhar
HEIGHT: 5′3
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Adaptable: For the most part, Al is merely coping as well as he can with the Exodus. He has always had the special ability to adapt with change and make it out unscathed… for the most part. He found a job at the first chance he got, knowing that going ‘legit’ is the best way to cope in this new world. He also wants to avoid reverting back to his old ways if he can certainly help it. He’s hoping it won’t need to be a long term solution, but only God knows how long it’ll be before he feels as though he is firmly on his own two feet.
Consummate liar: Is a white lie really a lie? Or is it so very bad if you lie in order to protect the ones who you love? The age old debate of toeing the line of morality with the veil of protection to hide behind. He hasn’t made it a fatal habit just yet, but his skills in lying have certainly upped their game over the years. While Al has never lied with devious intentions, he has certainly embellished the truth somewhat when he’s been embarrassed about some aspect of his life.
Pragmatic: While Al often acts on impulse, at his very core he is a pragmatist. He doesn’t allow himself to wander too far into ideals and what might be, when he knows that the higher you get your hopes up, the harder it is to fall back into reality. The reason why he is able to so successfully act on his impulses is from his ability to learn from his past experiences. While Al has a heart of gold, this doesn’t mean that he is entirely morally clean. He’s had to get both his hands (and his feet) a little dirty in the past. A boy’s gotta do what a boy’s gotta do to survive, right?
Gullible: It’s not always a bad thing, trying to see the best in people, but for Al it’s also led to his own fair share of heartache. Because of his kind nature towards others, it’s often easy to pull the wool over his eyes. These days he’s become a little better at picking the bad sheep, although he does occasionally suffer a lapse in judgement.
Undyingly loyal: Whilst Al has definitely learned that the first rule of basic survival is to be first loyal to yourself, his big hearted nature automatically causes him to be predisposed to caring for others. If you’ve earned his loyalty in some way, he’s bound to stick by you through thick and thin. That having been said, Al doesn’t give away his loyalty easily.
Insecure: After years of being told that you’re not good enough, it’s hard to not let some of that filter through. He certainly has the capacity to be confident in himself and that’s usually when he has the right support network around him. Currently Al is quite insecure as he’s not entirely content with the ways things are going. At least when he was a thief on the streets of Agrabah it was all on his terms. Here in Fabletown, it’s taken him a while to get used to the way things are run. These first few months have been the hardest, with Al drawing back from making new connections a lot more than he did in the homeland. Much of this is due to the fact that he’s now almost constantly busy and on his toes working, a rather well welcomed distraction if he’s honest.
Guile: Al knows how to manipulate a bad situation to make it the very best that he is able to. Sometimes his methods can err on the side of manipulation but he will usually try and avoid as much collateral damage as possible. If there is any collateral then he is usually very very sorry about it. He’ll only use his guile methods when absolutely necessary, and in situations when he’s got to think quick on his toes.
IN CHARACTER INTERVIEW
Was it hard adjusting to life in Fabletown? Do you miss the Homeworld?
Al sighed, now more than ever he felt it hard to talk about home. There had been a time when he would have given anything to escape what he had once called his own personal prison, then things had changed and he would give anything to have it back now that it was gone for good. The fates could be awfully cruel, something he ought to be used to by now.
“More than anything,” he finally said. He let a slow breath escape his lips, a gentlewhoosh of a sound that seemed at odds with the emotions pulling and clawing at his chest. It felt heavy, his chest, and broken in a way that caused him to take an extra moment to recompose himself. A hand went to his jaw, his fingers scratched by the stubble that was usually vacant. There were so many things about him that were different now, he wondered if the people of Agrabah would even recognise him anymore.
“I’ve lost more than just a physical place. I’ve lost a state of mind, people…” He was silent for a moment, a far off look flitting in his eyes, “Yeah, especially the people,” he finished, his voice soft from the thought of Jasmine.

Where is your favorite place in Fabletown or New York?
Nowhere? Al thought to himself. Be positive.
Instead of running with his initial thoughts, Al scoffed at the question, a slow smile pulling at his lips.
“Is that really a question? Obviously the full moon diner! I have one word for ya,” Al frowned in thought as he leant forward in his seat, “No sorry three, fried-chicken waffles.” He ticked off each work with an extended finger. “You really have not lived until you’ve tried them.” He let out a happy sigh. It was a dish that had been entirely new to the Agrabah native, a simple but masterful concoction of flavours that he himself would have never dreamed of. “It’s the perfect balance of sweet and savoury, and if you’re feeling especially adventurous drizzle some melted chocolate on top and Omar’s your uncle!” He finished with a content clap of his hands.

Who do you think killed Little Red Riding Hood? Please also indicate here if you would like for your character to potentially be the killer and, if so, what their motive would be?
He allowed a sun tanned hand to run through his already tousled locks. A coping strategy he’d always fallen upon when he was nervous or unsure. He wasn’t guilty. Al shrugged in what he hoped came across as off handed.
“Could’ve been anyone. Honestly? I’m just still getting over the shock that we can, you know, die.” Who else hadn’t made it? Was this a one off event, or were there others too? Would there only be more? All these questions had been rolling as if a tape on repeat through his mind since the body had been found.  What more was there that they didn’t know? That they weren’t telling them? He wouldn’t share all he knew, not until they did them the same honor.
