"You're not serious, are you?"

The high-schooler speaks with disapproval at a blonde girl sitting on her lap, seemingly not bothered by Aibreann's stare. Two other kids, one man and another woman, are leaning against the window and sitting on her desk.

"We're completely serious."

Answers one of them -- the boy who's leaning against the window. This is Sean.

"I'm not going through with the production."

"C'mon!!!"

The girl in her lap ( Kaythrin ) clings to her neck, letting out a small whine. "You'd be perfect for the lead!"

"I don't do the stage."

"Bi-biiiiii--!!"

Kaythrin calls again, but is silenced by a quick rebuttal.

"Don't call me that!"

Now comes a flush of her cheeks from the nickname alone. But Kaythrin has a smirk on her face, not even hidden from the other two.

"Can't say we didn't try."

The other girl, Mellissa, states with a shrug of her shoulders. Brown, curly hair drapes over one shoulder and moves when she does.

"You said that you'd be my Romeo if we ever did Romeo and Juliet for a play!"

Kaythrin speaks up again, determined to get her to finally join a production. Out of the four of them, only Bri was backstage. Never did she step out into the limelight unless she was helping to move a prop or fixture.

"That was years ago! And I don't think I'd fit him, Kayt. Now get off; you're making my legs go numb from your flat ass."

The group begins to laugh. Jokes and comments like these aren't uncommon between the theatre kids. Kaythrin snuggles closer, looking to the other two with pleading eyes.

"If love be rough with you, be rough with love.”

Sean comments, as if on some sort of cue. Everyone's heads turn to him, and he's smirking under a sweet smile. One hand reaches out to Aibreann, tussling rust-colored hair rather violently. Sounds of protests occur, but with her current situation, she can't move. A pain, really. She'd give him double that as payback!

"At least help with rehearsals? We all know Kayt's going to be Juliet. The theatre teacher loves her too much."

Mellissa's voice cuts through the playful bullying. A moment of silence, and a long sigh later.

"Fine. I'll help with rehearsals. And," Aibreann locks eyes with Kaythrin. The deadpanned expression fading as she gives a soft smile. The words, on the other hand, are anything like that. "I'm not kissing you if we have to."

"Briiii!!!!! You're so mean! You're the only friend I don't get to kiss at all! "

How she managed to end up within the factions, even as a bystander, of Yukari's work still eludes her. She's just an astrophysicist who took up a job with a nearby university since they were interested in funding her research. He's a Green Clansman, not quite sure how a few chance meetings ended up like this. What doesn't change is her fretting over him when he's out.

Today's a rare day -- she took a few days off. There wasn't much she could do in the meantime. The paper she was writing was at a halt. Data needed to be collected, and outside of waiting for either more, or results to process, what more could be done?

"You're somethin'."

She muttered under her breath, looking at a few text messages between the man after her heart and herself. It's small talk, since she hates to bother him while he's out. Playful banter can be seen on the screen, and it looks like she gave in first. Again. Closing her phone, Aibreann gets up from her couch and walks over to the sink. Adjusting the large shirt that's practically a tunic dress on her, she's about to start another project. However, her phone vibrates in her hand. Glancing at the notification, she shakes her head.

She doesn't even have to open it to know the rest of the message. Setting the bottle down, the water soon after, she replies after fully reading it.

Closing her phone once more, she slides it in her pocket. However, today wasn't a run day. A small smirk curls on her face as she puts up her hair, fingers brushing over the choker she wears everyday.

"He better not come in when I'm in the middle this time!"

Encouragement aside, she begins to move around the kitchen. Gathering ingredients that would later be their dinner. She's even donned an apron, not wanting to get his shirt covered in flour.

Again.

... Is she allowed to be in this place? The warmth of the walls surround her tense frame. A man stands in the kitchen, baking and seemingly busy with dinner. Yet, he doesn't even look up when he notices that something's off.

It's been a few months since she moved into her father's. With the help of Kaythrin, she was able to leave Aunt Maria's. The young girl had tried to escape a few times, but never truly left the house. There were lingering feelings of distrust, but progress was already beginning to bloom.

"Aibreann, would you come here for a moment?"

Her shoulders stiffened, then relaxed by force. Without saying anything in reply to the question, she walks over to island. Upon the surface are pieces of apples cut into stars. Flour covered the countertop space. What appeared to be other fruits also cut into stars and pieces of pastry rested comfortably.

"Yes?"

Her voice is soft still. Hidden pain rests in Gaétan's eyes; How it becomes hidden so quickly by a playful grin is unreal.

"Look up for a minute for me."

He's calm with her; Patience is everything. Auburn hair begins to move as she does as asked. What comes to her attention is the flour-covered hand ruffling her head. She's taken aback, but the baking-covered assault continues. Her hands come up, attempting to stop him when a piece of sugar-dusted dough comes at her face. It lands perfectly on her cheek, and Aibreann squeaks in protest. What Gaétan didn't expect was her to have a challenging mindset, One very much like himself, actually.

"C'mere!"

The fear and worry is drifted away as she places her hand on the counter and tries to get him back. Flour begins to get tossed up in the air, and laughter can be heard from her father as he moves around with ease. The young child, beginning to be huffy, continues anyway. She'll get him! She'll get him good!!

A half hour passes, and the sound of an oven goes off. The two of them are drawn out of their mini bake off, covered in more flour than what's recommended for the toughest of pies. Their faces covered in the stuff, too; Or was it sugar? Aibreann fell for a trap, stuck inside of his arms and was being tickled when the alarm went off. They both stare at it, frowning.

"Already?"

"For now. We can have a round two -- should you dare."

"Are you wanting to loose again so quickly?"

Laughter fills the room once more.

"For an eleven year-old, you're already speaking like a teenager. You're breaking my heart!"

REUTERS/ADREES LATIF PIJIJIAPAN, Mexico (Reuters) - Mexico on Friday offered temporary identification papers and jobs to migrants who register for asylum in the country, stepping up efforts to halt the advance of a U.S.-bound Central American caravan that has angered Washington. U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to close the U.S.-Mexico border and cut aid to Central America to try to stop the caravan of several thousand people. U.S. officials have said that up to 1,000 troops may be sent to the U.S. southern border to prevent the migrants from crossing. Making reference to the caravan, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said that migrants wishing to obtain temporary identification documents, jobs or education for their children could do so by registering for asylum in southern Mexico. ADVERTISEMENT "This plan is only for those who comply with Mexican laws, and it's a first step towards a permanent solution for those who are granted refugee status in Mexico," Pena Nieto said in a pre-recorded address broadcast on Friday afternoon. To qualify for the scheme he called "Estas en Tu Casa" ('Make Yourself at Home') migrants had to be in the southern states of Chiapas and Oaxaca, Pena Nieto said. Temporary work in the states would be extended so as also to benefit Mexicans, said Pena Nieto, who leaves office on Nov. 30. The caravan, which is moving through Chiapas on the border of Guatemala, has enabled Trump to campaign hard on illegal immigration ahead of midterm congressional elections on Nov. 6, in which Republicans are battling to keep control of Congress. Mexican officials have said those migrants who do not qualify for refugee status are liable to be deported. Mexico's government has said that more than 1,700 people in the convoy have registered for asylum, while others have returned home. Estimates on the size of the group vary. ADVERTISEMENT Alden Rivera, the Honduran ambassador to Mexico, told Mexican radio on Friday that the caravan could reach Mexico City by next Friday. He put an "official" headcount at 3,500, estimating that at least two-thirds of them were Hondurans. The caravan set off in Honduras nearly two weeks ago, and has picked up other Central Americans en route. Alexander Fernandez, a Honduran traveling in the caravan, said people began leaving the town of Pijijiapan at about 3 a.m. to head for Arriaga, a town in the west of Chiapas. A banner hanging over a bridge on the migrants' path read: "Your hearts are brave, don't give up."
