my childhood best friend had this mixtape cd of Mostly eurodance + some other things that i was absolutely obsessed with, but i lost the files and therefoe the mixtape. so ive been slowly but surely discovering what all the songs were called bc they mostly arent in english and the files were all named like 65457f576653.mp3. so aside from the stuff thats in spanish and comprehensible to me its mostly been a matter of just Happening to hear it somewhere

#easiest ones were dragostea din tei (which i was obsessed with Just before it became a meme worldwide) #the russian version of 'all the things she said' by tatu (also obsessed with that one) #'bucky done gun' which is in english so pretty easy. #'estoy aquí' 'será será' and 'la tortura' by shakira (also found out pretty quickly bc i really liked shakira in 5th grade) #'boten anna' and 'dotA' by basshunter. boten anna was inexplicably at 2x speed #'baila casanova' by paulina rubio but it was only the chorus looped twice lol? #darude sandstorm. #tokyo drift. #99 luftballons by nina except it was also only about half of the song. that was kind of a trend #several more i havent figured out which i think were russian #and my friend was russian and fluent so i could have just asked her lol but didnt #oh and theres one that ive wanted to find bc i THINK it samples 'excursions' by a tribe called quest which i thought #would make it easy to find but . its not. doesnt help that i cant remember the language or most of the song #it just samples the line 'back in the days when i was a teenager' in its chorus and thats all i kno #OH gasolina by daddy yankee was on there ofc. and others i cant remember. #anyway all very nostalgic #i havent made any new discoveries in a while i think the last one i figured out was another german one that ive forgotten the #name of now. i wish i still had the files i could literaly just post them and ask
