黒人と白人のミュージックの融合という言い分で始まって大失敗に終わった  EDM, 欧米の文化の限界, 今後どこに 行きつくのか？

“Hey Mama”や“Dangerous”といった破格のヒット・チューンこそ生まれたものの、アルバムとしては『One Love』（2009年）や『Nothing But The Beat』（2011年）ほど大きなインパクトを残すには至らなかったように思える。とはいえ以降もリリース面は好調で、ザラ・ラーソンとのムーンバートン“This One's For You”（2016年）やロビン・シュルツとの“Shed A Light”、ニッキー・ミナージュ&リル・ウェインを迎えたトラップ“Light My Body Up”（2017年）など、サウンドを変化させながらコンスタントにヒットを放ってきた。

　一方、2011年に首位に輝いたDJ Magの年間〈Top 100 DJs〉チャートでのゲッタは、初めて10位になった2007年からTOP10内を10年以上もキープしているわけで（他にはティエストとアーミン・ヴァン・ビューレンぐらいだ）、DJとしてのステイタスや信頼に揺るぎはないということだろう。楽曲のクロスオーヴァー度合いからしてカルヴィン・ハリスやゼッドらと並列で語られることも多いゲッタだが、クラブDJを起点とするキャリアの性質や基盤には相当な違いがある。80年代からDJとして活動し、長きに渡ってダンスフロアの趨勢を見てきた67年生まれの彼にとって、今回の『7』は50代に入って最初のアルバムということになる。

〈EDM〉という言葉のブレイクと同時にある種のフォーマットが広まりすぎたせいで、いまも〈あの頃〉の音のイメージで止まっている人も多そうだが、その言葉の下で鳴らされる音がどんどん変化しているのは普通にEDMを楽しんでいる人なら承知の通りだし、そうでなくても多くのスタイルは意識されずともそのままポップとして機能するようになった。ジャスティン・ビーバーを迎えた世界的なヒット“2U”はフューチャー・ベース仕様だったが、同曲をキックオフとする今回の『7』が用意したのも、フューチャー・ベース～チル・トラップやムーンバートンから接続して広がっていく現行シーンの楽しさを横断した多様なスタイルだ。

1001Tracklists Reveals “Top 101 Producers” For 2021

Every year since 2016, 1001Tracklists has put out a list of the Top 101 Producers for the year. Unlike DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list, which is essentially a popularity contest based on fan votes, the Top 101 Producers list is based on rote data that culls set lists for how many times a producer’s tracks are played out.

Of course there is still room for error with this system, as the set lists themselves are user-submitted (albeit independently verified) and not every set ever will get entered into 1001Tracklists’ system. But based on the data available, it’s a very different list.

Vintage Culture tops this year’s list, moving up 32 places, with a staggering 1,585 unique instances of DJ support. The rest of the top 5 is rounded out by David Guetta, Kryder, Armin van Buuren, and new entry John Summit whose song “Deep End” catapulted him to the top of the list with over 1,000 instances of unique support.

This ranking reflects the cumulative amount of unique DJ support for tracks played from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021. A unique DJ support is one artist supporting a single track.

If three artists each play a track once, this counts as three unique DJ supports.

If one artist plays a track three times, this counts as one unique DJ support.

If one artist plays two of your tracks, this counts as one point per track, so two unique DJ supports.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have done it!

The dynamic duo has officially been named DJ Mag‘s No. 1 DJ act for 2019, reclaiming the top spot after four years.

The duo, consisting of brothers Dimitri Thivaios and Michael Thivaios, also received the top honor in 2015 and were ranked No. 2 in recent years — 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. It was only a matter of time before they took over again.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have experienced a big year in 2019 — which marked the launch of their own eSports organization and new Mortal Kombat game. They also collaborated with Paris Hilton, headed up Tomorrowland Winter and even gotten into acting.

Previously, Martin Garrix held down the title for three years running.

Huge congrats to Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike! They have a lot to celebrate today.

Gettoo生まれ、倉庫育ち。幼い頃から洋楽に囲まれた家庭に育ち、中学生の頃にNME,i-dを読み漁りダンスミュージックに目覚める。 学生時代にイギリスで何が起こっているのかを確かめたくて渡英、非合法RAVEパーティーで人生を狂わされる事となる。以降、勢いで オープンして間もない西麻布Yellowで丁稚扱い（タダ働き）で企画室に潜り込み、来日アーティストの身の回りのお手伝いをする。 しばらくして、イギリスが恋しくなりヒッピーさながらの放浪をし、ホームパーティーに潜り込んではDJという滅茶苦茶な生活を経験。 レコードバッグ片手にイギリス、ドイツ、オランダ、スペイン、インド等を放浪してはパーティーで遊び尽くし、オーバーステイもしばしば。 カネが無くなったら日本に戻って某雑誌のライター仕事もこなし、何とか正気を保ってきたボンクラ。 転機は1999年の事、友人にプレゼントしたMixtapeがキッカケでイギリスのリヴァプールを拠点にしたパーティー「Cream」のJapan Resident DJに抜擢、2000年10月～2001年12月まで西麻布Yellowで「Cream in Tokyo」を開催。毎月DJmag Top 100 DJsを招聘し、英BBC Radio 1も取材に訪れ、Hernan Cattaneo招聘の際には親善大使扱いを受けアルゼンチン大使館に招待され治外法権でPartyを敢行。 その後はDJ活動自体が出来ないくらい社蓄状態になってしまいシーンから姿を消すも、クラブにフラッと遊びに行く度に「DJやんなよ」 と社交辞令か本気か分からないけど言われ続け2006年にコッソリ復帰。同年10月に自身のBlog「drumatrixx mag」をスタートさせる。 この頃には、すっかりDJ活動よりもBloggerとしての活動がメインとなり、Twitterでも存分の老害力を発揮。botが簡単に作れるように なったのを良い事にGarage Classics名曲を自動tweetする「Paradise Garage bot」を制作、何故か日本で話題にならずJody Watreyと Ron Trentの積極的な紹介により米Vice傘下のThumpで取り上げられる。 2012年には、ようやく社蓄状態から脱出し、楽曲制作を本格的にスタート。同年9月に英Soulshare Originalからデビュー作「We Called It… Balearic! The dynamic duo has officially been named DJ Mag‘s No. 1 DJ act for 2019, reclaiming the top spot after four years.

The duo, consisting of brothers Dimitri Thivaios and Michael Thivaios, also received the top honor in 2015 and were ranked No. 2 in recent years — 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. It was only a matter of time before they took over again.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have experienced a big year in 2019 — which marked the launch of their own eSports organization and new Mortal Kombat game. They also collaborated with Paris Hilton, headed up Tomorrowland Winter and even gotten into acting.

Previously, Martin Garrix held down the title for three years running.

16/7 UDJ - United Deejays for Children 2017 @ Coco Beach, Lido Lonato (BS): sul palco NERVO, Curbi, Marnik,  Klosman (…). Tutto l’incasso va in beneficenza per ricostruire il Campo Sportivo di Gualdo (MC) Giunto ormai alla ottava edizione, UDJ - United Deejays for Children ha fatto ballare decine di migliaia di ragazzi e raccolto oltre 250.000 euro devolvendoli interamente a progetti dedicati ai bambini in difficoltà. UDJ - United Deejays for Children è organizzato come sempre da Alberto Gobbi Events, Coco Beach club, LIBRA productions, Virgo Music MGMT con la collaborazione di tanti partner a cui quest’anno si aggiunge Piooner DJ (che sarà OfficialTechnology Partner del festival). UDJ - United DJs for Children si svolge al Coco Beach di Lonato del Garda (BS), che anche quest’anno è parte attiva nell’organizzazione di un evento sempre più consolidato.   L’ottava edizione dell’evento di beneficenza UDJ - United Deejays for Children  prende vita il 16 luglio 2017, come sempre al Coco Beach di Lido di Lonato (BS), dalle 18 alle 4 del mattino. Sul palco vanno come ogni anno superstar internazionali del mixer, che, rinunciando ad ogni compenso, aderiscono all'iniziativa benefica. L’ingresso costa solo 10 euro e permette di vivere un vero festival con protagonisti internazionali della scena musicale. Quest’anno l’incasso sarà destinato alla ricostruzione del Campo Sportivo di Gualdo (MC), un luogo di ritrovo fondamentale per la zona colpita dal sisma dell’estate 2016   I TOP DJ SUL PALCOTra gli altri ci sono le NERVO, probabilmente le dj girl più conosciute al mondo (sono le prime tra le ragazze nella Dj Mag Top 100 DJs, la chart più importante per i dj), due ragazze australiane che hanno collaborato pure con David Guetta e che sanno fa saltare chiunque. Deadmau5, uno dei produttori più importanti della storia della musica da ballo, sbarca a Gallipoli (LE) ed il 2 agosto 2017 fa scatenare il Cave per Popfest - People on Pleasure, party festival organizzato da MusicaeParole, colosso del clubbing attivo nel Sud Italia e non solo. Il festival entra quindi nel vivo e tra il 2 ed il 14 agosto propone alcuni dei più importanti nomi dell'universo mondiale della musica elettronica da ballo. Infatti, sul palco e in studio, invece che mixare o remixare brani altrui, crea e ricrea capolavori che spesso rappresentano il meglio della musica di questo millennio. Nessuno sa davvero chi ci sia dentro al casco di Marshmello, visto che la sua identità è misteriosa. Il suo sound è vario e mai troppo estremo: brani come la sua "Alone" (78 milioni di plays su Spotify e 108 milioni su YouTube) sono perfetti per muoversi a tempo col sorriso sulla labbra.

Bicep

With upbeat sounds and mega bass that shakes the floor, Bicep will be one to watch this summer in the village. Get those feet moving and enjoy the symphony of sounds created from catchy loops and feet moving synths. 

Bio: London-based, Belfast-born blogger, production and DJ duo Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson need little by way of introduction. Their ‘Feel My Bicep’ blog is the go-to place for tastemakers world-wide for lost and forgotten disco/Chicago house/Detroit techno/Italo edits and everything in- between. On a production tip, they have released on such labels as Throne of Blood, Traveller Records, Mystery Meat and 2012 saw their critically acclaimed track $tripper get released on Love Fever hitting the top chart spots on Juno and selling out worldwide.

Their remix track record has also been excellent with them stamping their distinguished sound upon works from Blondes, Toby Tobias, Disclosure, Blood Orange, Cosmic Kids and many more for labels such as Domino, Wolf Music and Tusk. Will Saul then snapped them up for his label Aus, with a collaborative EP includ- ing tracks You and Don’t which once again hit number one on Juno and caused the Beatport charts some bother.

The Feel My Bicep label launched in September 2012 with the highly sought after Vision of Love. It received great press worldwide and once again sold out whilst hitting the top spot at the stores. Room hosts at Fabric, a residency at We Love in Ibiza and bookings at Manchester’s Warehouse Project then ensued, with 2012 ending very nicely for the duo who came in at 32 on the Resident Advisor Top 100 DJs Poll.

2013 saw Bicep tour globally: dates in North & South America, Australia, Asia and Dubai, in addition to an especially busy summer packed full of festivals. Between gigs, Bicep were hard at work in the studio and had a string of successful releases beginning with Stash on Aus, followed by a collaboration with production heavy hitters Simian Mobile Disco – the result being re- leased on SMD’s own Delicacies label as Sacrifice. The track proved to be another success and was undoubtedly the work of two duos at the top of their production games.

After Sacrifice came the three-track release Satisfy, the second release on Feel My Bicep records. Like the first release on the Feel My Bicep label, FMB002 provided to be a huge hit, gaining radio and DJ support world- wide as well as selling out. Bicep also showed their ability to rework a track and they turned in two remixes of Aster – Cielo, on John Talabot’s Hivern Discs. On top of the music, Bicep released a limited-edition range of Feel My Bicep T-shirts for which the demand outstripped supply leading to them selling out very quickly.

As the year drew to a close they embarked on an Australian tour over new year and rose up four places to 28 on Resident Advisor’s Top 100 DJs Poll.In 2014 Bicep continued where they left off with another three-track EP released on Aus in May which leant more towards their techno side. They also contributed to Will Saul’s DJ Kicks compila- tion with their track Nova. This was then followed up with a remix for London-based party and label Tief.

During this time the Feel My Bicep events grew stronger throughout the year hosting Todd Terje’s London album launch at Oval Space, an FMB event at London’s Corsica Studios and Ber- lin’s Panorama Bar; the latter a collaborative event with Frankfurt’s Robert Johnson. Feel My Bicep records had two main releases in 2014, the first (FMB003) being a remix 12” of their previ- ous track Satisfy. Both John Talabot and Brassica turned in brilliant remixes which then led onto the release of FMB004 – a four-track club 12” including Lyk Lyk, the Italo techno hybrid Poly Pineapple and two collaborations with their old blog contributor Hammer called Icebowl and Day 3. Around this time their Essential Mix aired on BBC Radio One and was shortlisted as one of four best essential mixes of 2015.

They also had standout sets with their We Love Residency at Space in Ibiza and closing the Yuma tent at Coachella. At the end of 2014 they linked up with another Aus affiliate, Midland, and released a club 12” white label called D-Mil, gaining plenty of support across the BBC and further afield.In 2015 the relationship with Aus developed further with the four-track Just EP in May. The title track was voted by the BBC Essential Mix group as the best track of the year so far. It also became heavily rotated in the likes Jamie XX’s sets throughout the summer.

The EP was closely followed by the announcement of Bicep becoming the new residents at London club XOYO, playing every Saturday night across the summer from July to September. They programmed guests such as Derick May, Andrew Weatherall and 30+ more across the thirteen-week series. Other Feel My Bicep 2015 parties include the first stateside one in March which took place in LA, and an Off So- nar party in Barcelona with DJ Harvey in conjunction again with Frankfurt’s Live At Robert John- son in June.Back in the studio, FMB005 (Dahlia EP) was released in September. US label First Choice were reborn with a Bicep remix of Dyone – Only Love Can Set U-Free released in August and their edit of Dominica – Gotta Let You Go quickly became one of the most talked about tracks of the sum- mer, having debuted on their hometown Belfast Boiler Room for AVA Festival in May.

The guys submitted a spattering of one off tracks for various compilations, including a track for Modeselektor’s closing 50 Weapons compilation called Closing Sequence, and Gerd Janson’s Musik For Autobahns Volume II out on Rush Hour named Carmine. Furthermore, a track named Malima was released on the Craigie Knowes charity compilation, raising money for War Child. At the close of 2015, Bicep placed 17th in the annual Resident Advisor DJ Poll and their track Just won both Mixmag and DJ Mag’s track of the year – as well as taking the top spot in the Best of British DJ Mag Poll, and being included in many other end of year round-up lists.2016 has seen them work on their debut album as well as releasing remixes and more one off tracks.

They remixed Isaac Tichauer with a track titled Higher Level as well as further mixes for Ian Pooley and Brassica. FMB006 also came in the form of a Bicep remix, with the duo taking on the classic Blaze track Lovelee Dae, A further Hammer collaboration for AUS Music’s 100th release, titled Aracari, was also put out in Summer 2016.Another highlight of 2016 were the Bicep Remixes of 808 State’s classic track In Yer Face finally seeing the light of day on their own Feel My Bicep imprint (FMB007) 26 years after the originals release after receiving the 808 States seal of approval. They also went to sign the first artists to the label with ep’s from Sandboards (FMB008) and Brassica (FMB009).2016 was also the year that saw Bicep develop a live show.

This was debuted at Moogfest in the US before touring a handful of consciously picked clubs and festivals – Field Day in London, Ava Festival in Belfast and Sub Club in Glasgow. These early live shows were predominantly seen as a teaser before more live touring in 2017.

マルタ島出身で、本名は、Joven Grech。 相方の Cyprian Cassarと2016���までTranceデュオとして活動していたEDM/Tranceプロデューサー兼DJ。DJ Mag Top 100で常にランクインしていたこともあり DJ Mag Japanにも取り上げられ注目されていた人物で、Armada Music, Coldharbour Recordings, AVA Recordings, Interplay Recordsなどアジアでも人気のあるヴォーカルTranceを主体とするTranceが特徴のプロデューサー。Roger Shah, Tiff Lancey, Jan Johnston, Ruben de Ronde, Chris Jones, Somna, Susana, Ana Criado, Jonathan Mendelsohn, Jes, Protocultureなどのアーティストとコラボレーションしたことがある マルタ島ではヒーローのような扱いをされているプロデューサー。
