Death of a Wish, the new game from melessthanthree and Syndicate Atomic, is out today.
Death of a Wish is a vicious action-RPG set in a nightmare filled with horrifying monsters and terrifying people. Play as Christian as he unites with others to challenge the cult that raised him. By taking down the four Sanctum Faiths: Father, Sister, Cardinal, and Priest, they will upend the order of the world.

Finished playing through the Death of a Wish demo. Really really good and lots of thoughts but trying to summarize best I can.
Atmosphere is perfectly executed (as expected but that doesn't diminish it at all). Overall the game feels harsher than Lucah. The overall presentation has much more refinement to it, without taking away from the game's crunchiness.
Story is already compelling but vague enough that I'm going to hold off on trying to predict specifics of later events. Chris got a little bit Shadow-the-Hedgehog-ified but honestly he earned it after what he went through in Lucah. Lilli is so cool.
Gameplay feels very very fluid with more room for experimentation that I expected to get. Parry system is very nice. Only mechanics/balance complaint is Aqua felt kind of bad but I could have just been misusing it.
Level/world layout is done well, the density of minibosses is higher than I anticipated which kept me on my toes. The repurposing of Lethean and the radio tower was cool.
And then there's the Deserter. The challenge was A rank so of course I went and got S rank with no items or wish (normal/normal difficulty but I might try increasing it at some point).
