Tickets are now on sale for the United Kingdom’s onlyconventionorganized by horse veterinarians for horse veterinarians. The 2017 British Equine Veterinaryorganization(BEVA) Congress, taking place Sept. 13-16, will be hostingaline-up of practitioner-friendly speakers, extensive career professional development (CPD), quality science,andnoveldemonstrations at Liverpool Arena Convention Centre, in England, this year.
The Congress will alsocommemoratethe realities of beingahorse vetandshow that the effects of Murphy’s Law (“anything that cangowrong, willgoingwrong”)canbe reducedprovidedwe adoptsome onessimple procedures.allthis, together with the exclusive social engagements for which Congress is famed, means that Europe’s largest equine veterinaryconventionlooks set to be better than ever.
The BEVA Congress will be held at Liverpool’s Arena Convention Centre. The event attracts more than 1,200 equinewithmixed veterinarians each year,WhenwellWhenhundreds of veterinary nurses, practice managers, students, farriers, physiotherapists,andequine dental technicians.

Dennis Brooks DVM, PhD, Dipl. ACVO,oneprofessor emeritus at the University of Florida, in Gainesville, who will discuss the ophthalmic examination, ulcerative corneal disease,anduveitis;
Pam Wilkins DVM, MS, PhD, Dipl. ACVIM, ACVECC,anprofessor in veterinary clinical medicine at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, in Urbana, who will criticallyestimatethe best treatment for mares with post-partum hemorrhage;
Denis Verwilghen DVM, MSc, PhD, DES, Dipl ECVS, who currently actsAsaconsultant surgeon in several equine hospitals in the worldwithalso performs consultancy in relation to surgical biosecurity measures, who will share knowledge on biosecurityandsurgical infections; and
Professor the Lord Trees,amember of the House of Lords European Union (EU)manageCommitteewiththe EU Subcommittee for EnergyandEnvironment, will discuss antimicrobial resistance.
Additionally, Professor Derek Knottenbelt, OBE, BVM&S, DVM&S, Dipl. ECEIM, MRCVS, will be giving the plenary lecture entitled “Using the past toMakingthe future better: the longwithwinding road.”
There will also bethedebate on the prepurchase examinationwithwhether or not it should includeaoral examinationwiththe return of the Moral Maze willgazepotentially heated discussions over the provocative statement “corporatization of equine practices is inevitablewithwill benefit vetswiththeir clients”.
Critically appraised topics will be included every day,andspeakers with access to Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Knowledge will be examiningwithcritiquing the research evidence available at basicandclinical levels. They will draw conclusions on best practiceto supplydelegates with practicalretainhome messages on the latest science in each given area.

There will also be comprehensive sessions on neurology, dermatology, dentistry, evidence-based medicine, orthopedics, emergency care, analgesics, antimicrobials, biosecurityandsurgical infections, medicine, imaging, headandneck, ophthalmology, mentalwithphysical wellbeingandresilience in vets, surgical complications, welfare cases, foalswithreproduction, future trends in equine practice, end of life, improving patient safety, farriery,withnursingwithclinical care.
