[We note that, even after all this time, Millie's building carries the MoL Aquarian star of protection, and it's still Winchester Garage, not...whatever-her-maiden-name is.]
When we first meet Millie, she's bitter. As the one who "kept the lantern on," "the one who stayed," she's hurt and defensive, a lot like how Dean grows to be in latter seasons of SPN.
(Even post-demonicity, Dean is still expected to be the soft place to fall for everyone. Even after Jack kills Mary, Cas has this expectation of Dean's soft-heartedness: "it's possible he could work through this. One day, he may explode and let it all out and breathe deeply and move on.")
Anyway, Millie!
Her reunion with John is part passive-aggressive but loving. We see that Millie, like Dean, has intense abandonment trauma. She speaks abrasively-but-affectionately. She calls John "Kid, Kiddo, etc." which was a go-to with Dean for both Claire Novak and Jack Kline.
JOHN: Love what you've done with the place. MILLIE (passive-aggressive): Well, my husband and son walked out on me, so. It's the best I could do. (growing emotional) Dammit. Welcome home, Kiddo.

Gruff, abrasive, imperfect? Maybe. But full of love.
Alt John and Millie are united by the common loss of Henry, just as Prime John, Sam, and Dean were united by the common loss of Mary.
John thinks Henry walked out on them, but I think Millie is likely more complex. With her tacit knowledge of the Men of Letters, I think it's reasonable that she at least suspects that he might be dead.
What does that tell us about her? It tells us that the loss of Henry was unbelievably painful--it's probably easier for her to consider he left than the very likely truth: his demise.
She's a fixer. That's what she does.
She holds out hopeless hope.

JOHN: I'm fine, Mom. MILLIE: The Hell you are. You've been chasing your dad since he walked out that door. I know that's why you enlisted. But it is time to let the past go, kiddo.
But Millie isn't healed either. She hasn't let the past go, even as she pursues her dream of being a mechanic and owning a garage (like her father). Letting the past go hasn't helped her heal.
In fact, carrying on hunting and the MoL business is what seems to soothe her loss, giving her new meaning and purpose. Millie and John's push-pull dynamic with hunting is much like how it was with Ellen and Jo Harvelle.

But overall, we see what Henry's absence wrought. It's just as Henry feared in SPN Prime (9x17 Mother's Little Helper):
HENRY: Therein lies the problem. As our initiation grows closer, I... I worry that this might be a selfish endeavor on my part. JOSIE: Selfish. How? HENRY: If anything were to happen to me, what of John? Millie? JOSIE: They'd be proud to know that you answered the call. HENRY: No. My wife would be a widow, and my son fatherless. I don't expect you to understand. You don't have a fam--[he pauses] I'm sorry, Josie. I didn't mean it that way. JOSIE: I know, Henry. You're a good man. Millie is lucky to have you.

This directly parallels Cas and his allegiance to his work, Heaven, (Heaven is a truck, and Cas is a truck-driver; Dean thinks he's Josie when he's actually Millie).
It also beings to mind the visual of ("little John") Jack's entrance as he wanders around muttering, "Father. Fa-ther. Father. I need to find him. Castiel. He was supposed to be here," while looking for his long-expected, lost father in 13x01 Lost and Found.
But it's also an off-key parallel to prime John, who would become as Millie was, a bereft widower in the cold, floundering and ill-equipped to handle the dangers of the supernatural world.

When Alt John and Alt Mary meet:
Mary's father has been absent (missing) from her life for a short time, and John's father Henry has been absent for most of his life, just as when Dean and Cas meet, theirs too is a tale of missing fathers. Cas's father was absent for all of his life, and Dean's flaky dad has been gone for a (relatively) short time. It also very obviously parallels Sam and Dean searching for their missing father.

When they break inside the Men of Letters clubhouse, Mary keys into John's emotions about his father. This reminds me of of the first time Dean keyed in really hard to Cas's emotions in 5x16.

Recent losses of friends & family:

Additionally, Mary and John have both suffered recent losses. Mary lost her narrative twin Maggie, and John lost his comrade Murph to war.
[Mary's cousin went to Hell, just as Sam's brother went to Hell in season in vintage and mid-SPN.] Mary's hunting family was torn asunder, parents separating.
And John? WIth war, John signed up to fill a void left by his father, to find meaning in life.
We can even recall Dean's words to Gordon in 2x03 Bloodlust, how Dean struggled with the idea of "The Invincible Dad" and how his death made the word more terrifying, how it left a wound of depression inside of him that he sought to fill with meaning through work:
DEAN: Yeah. Yeah, you know. He was just one of those guys. Took some terrible beatings, just kept coming. So you're always thinking to yourself, he's indestructible. He'll always be around, nothing can kill my dad. Then just like that (snaps) he's gone. I can't talk about this to Sammy. You know, I gotta keep my game face on. (clears throat) But, uh, the truth is I'm not handling it very well. Feel like I have this - GORDON: Hole inside you? And it just gets bigger and bigger and darker and darker? Good. You can use it. Keeps you hungry. Trust me. There's plenty out there needs killing, and this'll help you do it. Dean, it's not a crime to need your job.
Dean lost his dad, and Gordon lost his sister. This emptiness is depression. John lost his dad and suffered that loss all his life. He signed up to the war for the GLORY OF PURPOSE. He didn't sign up to the war for more pain and grief, but that's exactly what he got.
What's the thing Dean can't fill up, not with booze or love or even sex? It's grief and pain. It can only be filled with love, which is what Cas's confession narratively does in 15x18.
It's also what Mary's love and the love of the Core 4 will eventually do for John.

SPN Prime season 8 side-parallel: Connections of recent grief ALSO calls to mind season 8, how Sam connected with Amelia when they had both suffered a loss, Sam lost his narrative twin to Purgatory and Amelia lost her husband to war.
Theirs was a fast-paced reactionary relationship born of grief, something that pinged and annoyed Amelia's father, leading him to be very passive-aggressive with Sam. (Her father was a dick, but he's both a soldier himself and does know her best and probably has her best interests in mind. He recognized that was Amelia mid-freakout, OOC. He pings that her out-of-characterness is a weird reaction to grief).
He was right to be concerned about the shallowness and stability of it. These types of reactionary relationships are well-known: they can be very shaky, melodramatic, idealized, and weak when stress-tested.

Sam (and vintage Dean) both have this tendency to be all-in or all-out when it comes to The Cause. Neither strike a balance very easily. They tend to either be ALL IN for the Perfect War with Perfect War Companions at Your Side...or rushing into something tenuous that represents a weak idea that winds up unsatisfying because it's not genuine: Perfect White Picket Fence or Howling-at-the-Moon Dishibitory Party Life.
In SPNwin, John is doing a lot of running, too. He rushes into the thing with Betty (weak and tenuous), then he rushes into war, he rushes into hunting, and he runs into the relationship with Mary.
This theme of Running into Danger / Running From Danger persists. John certainly struggles with it, BUT in a departure from his past behavior, this new thing with Mary gets a lot of stress-testing, eventually moving from limerence into turbulence, power struggle, and de-idealization. (SPNwin 1x12, The Tears of a Clown)

SO.
Mary and her ragtag gang of friends embark on a journey to look for the missing Samuel Campbell the way Sam and Dean look for the errant John Winchester, the way the Banes twins look for their mother Tasha Banes in Twigs, Twine, & Tasha Bane.
Certainly the core 4 are all "running scared" and clinging to one another, having all lost loved ones in a variety of ways. They are united in empathy over their respective losses:
John (dad, comrades)
Mary (narrative sibling, missing dad, splintered family and parental separation)
Carlos (whole family killed by a monster)
Lata (no-contact with her family because they allowed her beloved nanny to die; nonsensical/cruel hierarchy of human society)
Ada (husband lost to madness, son potentially a puppy-destined-to-be-wolf)

And finally we get Henry's letter:
If you're reading this, then I'm gone. I'm sorry I kept the truth from you, John. There's a dangerous world out there, and our family has fought that danger for centuries. The answers to all your questions are at the address below. I love you and your mother. Always.
I think this idea of Henry Winchester as a secret-keeper, and as Mary-prime as a secret-keeper fed into what we know about John-prime turned into: a neuroses of paranoia and over-preparedness.
But thanks to Dean, Alt John has some new tools to work through this: knowledge. Even his anger is useful, openly telling his mother how disappointed and betrayed he feels over being kept in the dark. For her part, she gives him her emotional truth: that she only wanted to protect him.
It's the first healing step for both of them.

Summary: Sam was a very pretty smart man, so he knew his older brother hadn’t just left them because he wanted to rebel. He knew that it was John Winchester’s fault, and so he had done his best to find his brother. Unfortunately, after 17 years, and after searching high and low for him, Sam had finally given up.  Dean was aware of the fact that he made impulsive decisions and it almost always landed him in trouble. Each time, he had vowed to never make an impulsive decision ever again, yet he never could stop.  He knew that he had fucked up when the last thing he recalled was trying his best to survive the cold Chicago winters, and now was waking up on a bed after years, with a tall man standing in front of him, claiming to be his presumed dead brother.  It was now up to him to do his best to get better and also reconcile old relationships on the way. He had to try balancing raising a child and trying to get over the one he lost.  Also, who was the person he was living with, and why was he so damn accommodating and helpful? It was making Dean have a lot of confusing feelings and he didn’t like that.
Excerpt: “Cas, dance with me?” Dean surprised himself by asking Cas that. After having an awful day, and coming home disappointed, all he had wanted to do was go to sleep. But after coming back and seeing Cas and Jack dancing, something in his heart had fluttered. The three of them had danced around for sometime before Jack had yawned sleepily and they decided to stop.  Cas, who had fed Jack while Dean was gone and was waiting for him to get back so that they could have dinner together, had set the table while Dean put Jack to bed. The two of them had dinner together while the songs from the evening still played in the background.  Once dinner was over and the dishes were clean, the two of them sat silently in the living room, the only noise being the music. The silence was more pleasant than awkward. Dean stole glances at Cas, who was staring right back at him. The two of them had a small smile on their faces, and sat comfortably on the couch.  When the Rain Song by Led Zeppelin came on, Dean held his hand out to Cas and asked the man for a dance. To his joy and bewilderment, Cas agreed and the two of them started dancing.  Cas had his arm on Dean’s right shoulder, letting Dean lead the dance. Even though Dean hadn’t danced in almost fifteen years, he could still remember the time spent with Jo and Ellen, who was teaching her stubborn daughter how to dance for her prom. Dean had found it interesting and had joined them.  Even though Jo hadn’t been particularly good, and Dean had come out slightly better than he had expected, that day was still one of his favorite memories of Ellen, Jo, and Will, who had later joined them to try and teach Jo something useful.  He looked into Cas’s eyes and smiled. The man had done so much for Jack and him and Dean was eternally grateful to him. Not only was he helping them out by giving them a place to stay, but he had also helped Dean emotionally. His constant presence by Dean’s side as he went through chances in his life had really helped him. Going to therapy, Nick going down, officially adopting Jack, if it weren’t for Cas being there for him all the time, Dean would probably have given up halfway through.  “You know, when I was young, Led Zeppelin used to be my comfort band. Anytime I felt unhappy or lonely or terribly upset, I would go to the impala, put on a cassette and listen to them. it would always help me calm down. Something about their music reminded me of childhood and of home , when I still had mom. I haven’t listened to them since i was taken away when i was sixteen, and Cas, it still makes me feel like I’m home. Thank you Cas, for being my home.”

Hello dear friends! We are reaching the end of the season 11!
Remember this is a series of metas focused on Destiel, and maybe some topics like Chuck, or Sam's arch could be taken superficially.
I will talk here about episode 11x21 and first part of 11x22, so I hope you can enjoy the last ones from this season.
Let's start!
Longing for you
What is important about Destiel in episode 11x21 'All in family' ? Amara uses Dean's longing for Castiel as a phone line to reach him through the angel.
And this is one of the most Destiel iconic scenes, showing us how canon is that Dean and Cas share a profound bond, that bond turns out so real, that even Amara (and Jack in season 13) are able to find Dean (and Cas).
I'm not giving new facts here, but remember when Claire Novak was walking down the road and Castiel appears in his car, and he talks about how an angel can sense longing? That's the connection we need to think over here.
Dean was in the middle of the night, again because he couldn't sleep, worried about Cas and the horrible torture he was receiving from Amara, and all those desperate thoughts, longing strongly for him, when Amara showed in front of him with Casifer in bad shape to threatening him.
Amara knows now Dean's Tru feeling for Castiel, and when Lucifer loses conscience she senses that longing too. She frowns and with a hand on Castiel's chest (and this is very symbolic, the chest is where the heart is placed) she reaches Dean.
This is one of my favorite references in the show about the relationship between Dean and Cas. Their profound bond is real, and I'm certainly sure we will see some of it again as endgame for Destiel. (We already saw it in episode 15x09, and I wrote about it in this meta here.)
So, we learned in the last meta that Amara can't contact Dean anymore, so she will use that feeling, that strong connection between the angel and Dean she has just discovered, to reach him.

When Dean sees Cas in that shape (okay, maybe Casifer but it was Cas' vessel) he became more desperate.
Even with Chuck there and all the questions they want to make him, Dean focuses on Cas. He cut his brother in the middle of a speech.
Dean: Amara is – she's in my head. Hey, I didn't ask for it, okay? She just showed up. But she's showing me visions of – of Lucifer. By Lucifer, I mean Cas, and he looks like crap – like she's really doing a number on him.
Dean ignores Amara used the connection he has with Castiel to find him, but we, as audience, know because the writers wanted us to know about the way Amara reached Dean.
Here again, is not Lucifer, but Cas the one that cares to Dean, because for him, CAS IS THE ONE BEING BEATED UP BY AMARA.
There's another Canon scene, in which Amara appears again in front of Dean, and when you look for the connection with Cas, you find Sam and Donnie talking about angels. Even Sam says the word: ANGELS.
This is perfectly settled by writers too, as we know, because in season 13, we will see how Dean gets very sad when he speaks about angels to the sheriff in episode 13x01, so when we say Angels, we say CAS.
Dean's thoughts were on Castiel
Another Canon fact, but building perfectly by Berens, playing with the switch between scenes that characterizes him, is the rescue of Castiel and Amara and Dean meeting.
These two scenes are switching with a purpose: TO SHOW US THAT DEAN WINCHESTER ISN'T BONDED TO AMARA IN THE WAY HE WAS AND MORE IMPORTANT, WHERE DEAN'S THOUGHTS WERE: ON CAS.
Amara: Thank you for reaching out to me, Dean.
Dean: You said you wanted to meet.
Dean doesn't want to be nice with her, 'I CAME BECAUSE YOU WANTED ME TO COME (Because you threatened me, and because you have my angel) is not something Dean wanted but is something Dean is using to keep her away while Casifer is rescued.
Amara: I missed you. And the... sensations you arouse. I know you feel the same way. So...what do we do?
Dean: There can be no us. We should just walk away.
Amara: Then why don't you?
This is a little ironic, because Dean is rejecting God's sister ONCE AND FOR ALL, and indirectly is because HE LOVES SOMEONE ELSE and because HIS THOUGHTS ARE ON CAS NOW, is as if he was saying WE CAN'T GO OUT, I'M IN LOVE WITH CASTIEL.
And it keeps being more interesting, because Dean asks for a separation, 'We should walk away' and Amara is like: OKAY YOU DON'T WANT TO BE WITH ME THEN WHY YOU CAME? And we laugh because HE WENT TO YOU BECAUSE WE NEED CAS BACK.
Berens want us to make the connection with the switch of scenes.
Amara: Dean, give up your... smallness, your humanity and become boundless within me.
With my head again on my spec, I can't stop thinking how this is so related to it, because DEAN REJECTS THIS OFFER GIVEN BY AMARA, A FORCED BOND, will he be able to decide it for himself? And I meant, as the Destiel endgame I presented to you months ago, will Dean be able to give up his humanity for love? And be one with Castiel? Willingly?
Dean: You're right. I am drawn to you. And it bothers the hell out of me, 'cause I can't control it.
Perfectly said by Dean himself: IT BOTHERS THE HELL OT OF HIM, the feeling that Amara gives him, is not something he wants.
Amara: Then why fight it? What you're feeling is that I am the end of your struggle. Something stops you. Keeps you from having it all.
There's a huge misscomunication here, Dean is saying I DON'T LIKE YOU, and she is not getting the message.
We also know what is the only thing that stopped Dean to give up before Amara: Cas, and because the scenes between this one and Cas' rescue keep happening, the audience also knows it.
Amara: Where are your thoughts? Something's different.
Thanks to Master Berens we can answer this for Dean: CASTIEL.
Something is different since Dean found out Lucifer had Cas, and then that Amara had Lucifer who had Cas. So... Yes.
From daddy issues to Dean's worries about Cas
Quickly, I want to point a couple of facts from episode 11x22.
About Destiel, we had Dean worried about what Cas thought about the plan they were constructing between demons, witches and angels. He was the only one here asking for Castiel's opinion, and the concern he shows made Lucifer felt so done, and mocking him again. 'Yes, your husband is agreed', the line wasn't this one but it sounded like that, right?
Then, there was two scenes, and I want you to know I'm not talking about new things again, as I repeated a thousand of times, these scenes had been analyzed plenty in the fandom, but I have to mention them anyway.
When Amara enters on the place where everyone were waiting to attack her, she didn't look well, and the first thing Dean's body does is trying to reach her. Sam stopped him. It was like a reflection, vestiges of the forced bond
But immediately after that, we had our Destiel scene. When Amara hurts Casifer, Dean yells Cas' name and went to attack her.
Where's the power Amara has on Dean on that? Inexistent. Is gone when Cas is the one in danger.
Amara quotes: WELCOME TO THE END, as a foreshadow of Chuck at the end of season 14.
To Conclude:
Episode 11x21 are full of Profound Bond references and Destiel.
Is blatant here that Amara lost badly against those blue eyes.
Dean's thoughts had been always on Castiel.

Mc Donalds anon. At this point I could make it an account name. Ok so you're saying That Misha is friends with the boss? Or that Singer likes Misha despite Misha running his mouth with no filter in the past? Or that Singer sees that Misha brings in money and/or interest in the show (as a secondary character yes, but quite a beloved one)? I put my money on answer three? Am I getting the code right, damnit i feel slow. As an aside, I don't always agree with u but your blog is so damn REFRESHING
Don’t feel bad feeling slow because I’m not helping. I’m avoiding saying certain stuff but *pinch nose* you’re going to make me say it.  
The official statement on why they kept Misha on is to give Jensen and Jared time off from their heavy filming schedule.  Notice, though, it’s to give both Jensen and Jared off at the same time.  If Jared wants time off then they could schedule Jensen and Misha scenes, or if Jensen wants time off then they could film Jared and Misha scenes.  But no, Jensen and Jared need to have their time off together at the same time.   Mmmmokay say I still believe the official statement, then why not further develop Cas’s character with new characters that fans have responded very well to, like Benny, Charlie, and Gadreel?  Why do they keep introducing and killing off interesting new characters while Cas is just kind of….there?   Can you honestly tell me that you’ve noticed a downtick of Sam and Dean scenes?  Sure there were episodes that are side-character centric, but all shows do this; they let supporting characters have their spotlight episode because creators/writers gets paid more when their character are used. Claire Novak was Carver’s creation from season 4 so he used her for 3 episodes in season 10 and gets paid more.
Needless to say I don’t buy their official statement.
I’m taking futher speculation under the cut because this could get long.
Jared said his first breakdown happened on set during season 3 and a set doctor diagnosed him.  This is important, everything happened on set; the breakdown, the doctor, the diagnosis, which means everybody who is a TPTB now knows about Jared’s mental illness, incuding Robert Singer.
Kripke fucked up the budget at the start of season 3 and Singer took over the management of the budget, which means he now has more power than Kripke.  With news of Jared’s illness, Singer put together a “contingency plan” for the show to continue without a Sam.  Old time fans noticed that season 3 shifted to focus a bit more on Dean as more new characters were brought in to interact with Dean in case, you know, Jared leaves the show. Also, most producers at the time was Jensen-supportive because of his campaign for an Emmy nomination.
Cas made his debut in season 4 for what was supposed to be 4 episodes.  Fans responded well enough that Singer thinks he found another possible replacement (among few other choices) for Jared in case his depression take a turn for the worse.  So Misha was given Anna Milton’s storyline and the actress was fired.  In season 5 Cas mainly served as a comic relief.  Why bring him back onto the show just to stand around and deliver funny lines? Cas didn’t even solve the problem of the apocalypse, Gabriel did.  Because of the contigency plan.  In other words Misha was the understudy bridesmaid waiting to step to replace Jensen who would replace Jared.  In season 5 there was rumors that Jared was having emotional issues but not a breakdown.
In season 6 Kripke was out and Gamblewas in.  Gamble actually gave Cas purpose on the show and his character a meaningful ending, in other words, Gamble threw out the contingency plan and Misha was fired. In season 7 Gamble did what Kripke did, fucked up the budget.  Singer rescued the budget and once again he has more power than Gamble and wrest control away from her (with Jensen’s support).   Singer brought in his wife as a “writer” on the writing team, the dreaded BuckLemming.  Singer brought back his continency plan and forced Gamble to un-fire Misha.  It woudn’t suprise me if Misha thought he would eventually replace Jared because there was a big difference in his public persona before and after season 7.  During season 8 Misha signed a multi-year contract to return to SPN as a regular again for season 9.  Singer even had Thompson reenact the Swan Song scene for 8x17 (Goodbye Stanger) for the Dean and Cas scene.  This was no coincidence as Marketing Enterprise was hired to quantify Misha’s Q number that same year.  The following day after Goodby Stranger aired TV Guide posted a Cheer or Jeer poll on Cas’s return to Supernatural, again the timing was no coincidence.  Neither the Facebook poll result or the Q numbers were what Singer or CW expected.   I have no doubt that Jensen seen those same numbers and used it as leverage to decrease the Dean and Cas scenes by 50% in season 9, and 50% again every following season.  Jensen bragged at the Rome con how glad he was that there weren’t as many Dean and Cas scenes in season 9.  Season 10 came and we all know what happened with Jared.  Singer is like, see we need my contingency plan!  And TPTB is like, yeah sure buddy, say why don’t you ~quietly step down as executive producer while we negotiate a billion dollar deal with Netflix.
So what I’m saying is Misha was kept as “back up” should Jared’s depression force him to leave the show and then Cas would step in as Dean’s hunting partner on the show.  They did nothing with devleoping Cas’s character for 4 damn years, just kept him around like an understudy bridemaid.
Now the rumors are rampant that season 12 is Misha’s last season.  Officially Jared has had 2 breakdowns in 10 years.  If he has another breakdown it probably won’t happen again until 2022 and by then SPN would be off the air.  Therefore Misha’s service as understudy bridesmaid/Jared’s replacement is no longer needed.
ETA: Misha wasn’t fired but he took the pay cut and his status demoted from regular to recurring.  Mark Pelligrino replaced Misha as regular in season 12 and Alex Calvert replaced Mark Sheppard as regular in season 13.

Sure, she has more from Castiel in her genes than from her real father, but calling him dad is a can of worms to open some other time. What's important right now is that she would never not be in danger if she didn't get some field study in. It's true she couldn't possibly fathom the weight of heaven on Castiel's shoulders, and letting lose any level of her own unearthly energy might be considered a beacon, but still.
Can't they let her try?

It was only 2. Apparently, Claire currently couldn't handle more than one. She was irritable, ache-y. Like it was too hot and too cold all at once. Sometimes, she caught her own ears ringing to the tune of angel radio, but there wasn't anything worth her business up there.
Sam would definitely recognize this behavior--no question to if he knew what it was like to hear voices in his head.

Claire stood rigid and admittedly a little panicked. After all, it's not like she has full frontal knowledge of her own abilities... but she knew just enough to make the right choice. Through her own soul, she was aware of a presence here. A presence that was aching. As for where Claire came from? First thing's first.

Just as cautiously, Claire steps over and kneels halfway down to the bed, still keeping enough distance that the other girl doesn't feel suffocated. She offers a hand.
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ❝Just grab on when you're ready. The noises might be scary right now, but we have some time. No one's coming. Yet.❞
That had taken a lot to pull off, and at best her little parlor trick will only work for a handful more minutes... and the shock might not sit right. In the hall, there is an assemblage of scientists and researchers all in the position of clambering towards this very room. However, all of them are frozen in place, mid-step and poised. As if a picture were taken of them, and anyone seeing had stepped through into the stagnant moment.

She was praying as a joke, really--a last resort, a lament of anger towards Castiel for someone more qualified to be a father and--Well, according to the scripture, she couldn't have wrangled anyone better.
The question is, why here and why now? If what everyone says is true, God doesn't just do this. Come down to earth. Especially to her, a Nephilim, whom the angels see as abominations most of the time.
Guess she doesn't really know his opinion for sure, though... and something tells her that even if she did have the instincts to be hostile, that it would end in her own ending.

Power Level: Cleric of Light, 17 (D&D 5e)
While Jack would be considered well above Epic (above Level 20), Claire is somewhere around 17. For those in the D&D lifeTM, imagine a one-shot at 17 but you've never played the class before and don't have a character sheet. You don't even know what god you worship, but those abilities are coming from somewhere. You're unaware at first of the abilities, and probably struggle immensely to understand them right away and without issue until you FIND a sheet. This is where Claire sits on her power level, unaware of what she knows or what she can fully do, but without debate--strong and powerful.
Her knowledge would then mostly come from Castiel and other allied angels, until Kevin and the Angel Tablet come into play...

The last couple days or so have been ROUGH for Claire Novak. Once upon a time, she was a case that was scribed upon by the Winchesters. An entire block of innocent neighbors were frozen in time, and the brothers were drawn in by the exposition of Castiel. Claire herself had been living with her grandmother, and when said grandmother died it... hadn't gone over well for her at all, mentally.
Those people were unable to go about their daily lives, but time didn't pause on their body--only their ability to move. The case became dire when victims began dying of starvation or dehydration. Even a Weaker Nephilim, when struck with grief, can still cause untold damage. Claire remembers wanting to be in her grandmother's last moments forever, and she too was frozen on the edge of old-age agony.
It was Castiel who convinced her to let go, and allow her grandmother to pass--to free the remaining victims of her time-freezing curse.
Today was the anniversary of those victim's deaths, of when her last surviving blood family member was finally allowed to move on. She remembers how even the Reapers couldn't touch her, of how Death herself needed to get involved to help Castiel.
She was a monster, still could be if put under that kind of stress again. Castiel has been watching over her, letting her stay with the Winchesters while he deals with Heaven and other things.
Although she couldn't end the world, Claire never stopped thinking of herself as anything other than a danger... but there was a certain pair of brothers who didn't think so. Who trusted Castiel when he said she could be taught. And here she is, almost a year later, having learned much about how to defend herself as a hunter, but not a lot regarding her own Nephilim abilities.
She often agonized over this, and today was the worst of it--Dean must of heard the commotion of her having blacked out, tearing something apart in her room at the bunker and knocking over furniture. He must have thought someone was being murdered. She expected him to yell at her or pull out that nasty demon blade, but instead... she gets a hug. A much needed one. Warm and enveloping, like a prayer.
