Gyrgan was the air Avatar before Hunk, but he lost his memories in the assault on the air temples after briefly going into the Avatar State, and was raised in secret in the Earth Kingdom, only being taught earthbending to protect him. He married, had children, and only learned the truth towards the end of his life, when he was too old to do anything.

It's no small wonder then, that the next Avatar Blaytz was born with the burning urge to do something... and whose actions ultimately only seemed to make things so much worse. Zarkon wanted conquest- Honerva is willing to rip the world apart to bring him back, threatening on a scope much broader than anyone could have imagined.

Is it any wonder then, that when Hunk is born, he carries with him a deep desire for peace?
