yeah im back again already. what about it. But I just had some thoughts about Wolf and Caiatl, so anyway
Wolf gets unexiled because of Caiatl, right? She saw them, she saw the Vanguard struggling (in more ways than one), and the Birds' (Crow, Saint, Osiris, and honorary Cayde) determination that Wolf was innocent - And told Zavala how she saw it. Wolf needed something to hold onto, and the Vanguard (and, by extension, the Coalition) needed the extra power.
But Wolf doesn't understand why she would do that for them. Sure, they understand the power struggle. That part makes sense. But she'd heard what amounts to horror stories about them, rants about their betrayal, about the refusal to answer anything - And she still trusted that they'd make the better choice there?
It doesn't make sense.
I imagine, sometime after coming out of exile, Wolf finds her. They don't really know why they're there, but they think there's something they just have to do.
Caiatl notices their demeanor - Never meeting anyone's eyes, never touching; always as still as possible, always pulled in on themself - but there's an assurance to them this time. They look uncertain of themself and almost in pain, but there's a purpose to their walk.
Though, they hesitate once in front of her. They still won't meet her eyes. She can just barely hear them take a breath, before they fall to one knee in one motion, fist over their chest as if swearing loyalty.
"Thank you," she can just make out from them. It's raspy, and sounds pained, but committed. They take another breath, before forcing themself to look her in the eyes. The first time they ever have, and it's in near tears. "I don't understand, but-- Thank you."
