Oh my gosh, I think it was Rambo: Last Blood. My then-boyfriend picked it. It was...yeesh.

It’s hard to describe to odd, unsettled feeling that I’ve had to get used to. The switch from in-person to online school has definitely been an adjustment, and I miss my friends. I was in a musical before the world stopped, and it got cancelled, which really hurts, but I understand protecting others is more important. Mostly it’s a little bit heavy to worry about my parents and grandparents, especially my mom, who works in healthcare. But I feel incredibly lucky to have the necessary resources and wifi, and I’m so thrilled that I get to spend time with my sister because she’s home from college!

6. we all love new music to listen to, name an artist that is underrated/you think people should check out?

Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

TV show; I’m definitely better at paying attention in 20-40 minute spans than I am at 2 hour spans lol. 

8. favourite holiday?

Mmm, I love the warmth and coziness of Thanksgiving, when the leaves are falling and it’s starting to get cold outside. I also love seeing the flowers pop up at Easter.

Again, I could name so many! But right now I love “Brand New” by Ben Rector

I’m going to say “never say never”. I would like to finish Burn one day. Where the Tracks Meet was never meant to be anything more that cute fluffy one shots, so that isn’t actually “incomplete” as such - it’s just there.

Having said that, Bethyl and TWD hurt me in a way that Kastle never did (sure Kastle had the potential to, which is one of the reasons I’m not too upset about the mass cancellation even though it doesn’t exactly help the fandom). It never actually screwed up other than a few bits of dodgy writing and silly easily foreseeable problems I think the showrunners should have worked out BEFORE going down the path they went. The point is though that despite the missteps I feel they started making as far back as the final episode of TP 1, I can continue to ship and play with Kastle quite happily for now. 

With bethyl, I myself made mistakes with the way I approached TWD in general (having been out of fandom for years and not realising what is considered “fandom” today and assuming I could somehow deal with what it was instead of retreating into my hidey hole and just doing the things that made me happy). I got too involved in the community aspect over the creative aspect and that’s honestly just not where I belong; it’s not what I’m good at and it’s not good for my creative process either. It made it very hard to go back and just continue to do the things I love.

I thought some time and distance would help - the truth is I have no idea what is happening in the show at the moment and the only bit I have watched of it in the past five years is the Shane hallucination, because damn, a girl has needs and Jonny B in a cop uniform definitely fulfills about a dozen of those - but it hasn’t really. And not because I’m still upset about it or anything, but because I still can’t truly get my brain to click back into creative mode versus fandom mode when it comes to TWD.

So after that very long rambly explanation, all I can say is that maybe one day - maybe. I would like to. I just do not know how to click back into that creative mode.

The upside of this all is that I have learnt exactly how I can and can’t relate to fandom and have avoided making that mistake again.
