it makes me go crazy sometimes just how incorrect some of these GC academics are about things. why not just say bodily differences will lead to some differences but ultimately the way all dance disciplines are organised is a product of socialised gender to a certain extent. women’s dancing is often designed to be decorative or else highly sexualised, men’s emphasises their strength and dynamic movement. these are not natural differences and it’s so stupid, absurd even, to suggest they are. kathleen stock already threw out gender abolitionism (via huge misrepresentation of it) and perhaps joyce will follow her lead. I hate how people are agreeing with this totally uncritically.
