#like in rising storm and theyre apprentices by the darkest hour
Note
I know there are lots of WC books, boy do I know. But put your most faves of the series and rate them - shipping-shiggy.
oh fuck this is HARD
hmmmmmm...... im gonna do this in categories i think, putting under the cut bc this could get long
alright i'll start with super editions, since theyre the most cut and dry i think
crookedstar's promise, it's super good, very emotional, i love crookedstar
tallstar's revenge, very gay, love it
this one's kinda difficult bc i havent read most of the older ones in a long time, so i think my answer would probably change once i've reread them, so... tentatively, im gonna say crowfeather's trial, for the sole reason that i have been a crowfeather fan since i was 10
ok next up im gonna do it by arc, and then after that i'll pick my faves out of those faves
for the prophecies begin:
into the wild, ofc
rising storm
i think a dangerous path and the darkest hour are tied here
honestly, the first arc in general is just rly solid, probably the best in the series (altho not my favorite arc)
now for the new prophecy... disclaimer, i havent read these books in at least 6 years, and i dont remember hardly anything so im going off wiki summaries lmao
starlight (windclan civil war my beloved, oh if only you were better fleshed out and expanded on)
sunset (good bramblehawk content lmao)
moonrise
power of three time
eclipse!! when i was a kid i reread this book over and over bc i thought the battle in the tunnels was just SO fucking cool, and yknow what? i was right
dark river
the sight
omen of the stars
the last hope for the sheer impact it had on me as a kid (also i still cry over firestar's death lmao)
night whispers
the forgotten warrior
dawn of the clans, my favorite arc!
the first battle, it has my favorite line in the series and is just. so good.
a forest divided
path of stars
a vision of shadows
SHATTERED SKY this is in my top 5 of all time, i LOVE how fucking dark it is, i can't get enough, i want more warriors books that are this level of fucked
thunder and shadow
the apprentice's quest
honestly this arc... kinda sucks lmao, it has some high points but overall... nah
the broken code! this is probably my 2nd or 3rd fave arc, i rly liked it
lost stars, incredibly strong start to an arc
the silent thaw, was not bored for even a single page reading this one, which is very rare for warriors
darkness within bc of how dark it is, even in comparison to the rest of this arc; like, that scene where the sisters are trying to summon bramblestar's ghost but instead it's a bunch of ghost cats screaming in agony?? fucking awesome
aaand i can't rly rate the current arc since theres only one book out dnfgdjkfh but i really loved river, i think this arc is gonna be pretty good!
soooo overall rankings! we have:
shattered sky, i could read it again and again, i swear
the first battle
into the wild
and just for funsies here are some of my least favorite books, not rly categorized bc im getting tired of typing<3
yellowfang's secret, leopardstar's honor, squirrelflight's hope, the sun trail (seriously fuck this book), outcast (every time the erins write a traveling book i die a little more inside), the fourth apprentice, river of fire, and the place of no stars

i rate every main series warrior cats book title
Into the Wild: direct and to the point, a house cat enters the wild. 6/10
Fire and Ice: when i was a kid i thought that it was called this bc wind fanning the flames created by lighting created fire and cold over water created ice. now i realize it was probably just because FIREheart was in the snow. 3/10
Forest of Secrets: another straightforward title, there are a lot of secrets in this forest! 6/10
Rising Storm: finally some good fucking symbolism! not only is there a literal storm brewing but the rising tensions among the clans are about to converge in a destructive storm. 8/10
A Dangerous Path: this book has a lot of dangerous paths in it! the dangerous path bluestar’s mental health is going down, the dangerous path swiftpaw and brightpaw take to become warriors, the dangerous path to lead the dogs over the gorge. go through this book and try to count all the dangerous paths. 7/10
The Darkest Hour: this is a pretty dark hour for the clan and the darkest so far but not the darkest overall. 5/10 for lack of hindsight
Midnight: i cant think of any symbolism with this title so im going to assume it’s just named after the badger. hopefully we get a book named pip next. 2/10
Moonrise: when there’s darkness among the clans and tribe theres a single ray of light. the ray of light is also silver. 7/10
Dawn: after the darkest time the clan as ever faced they struggle through to dawn, symbolizing a new beginning 9/10
Starlight: im pretty sure it’s just named this because of the moonpool’s reflection. pretty imagery but not compelling. 4/10
Twilight: came out at the same time as the more popular twilight and confused the librarians when i asked to check this book out 1/10
Sunset: the blood on the lake looking like the light of a sunset makes up for the fact that the climax of this book did not actually take place at sunset. 5/10
The Sight: blatantly mocking jaypaw like this cannot stand. 1/10
Dark River: there is a river in a cave, which is pretty dark. 4/10
Outcast: two of the cats in this book are outcasts but theyre responsible for this book being pure filler. the real purpose of this book is to outcast the tribe permanently from relevance to the plot. 3/10
Eclipse: an eclipse takes place in this book but it doesn’t really symbolize anything it’s just a wonder of nature. 4/10
Long Shadows: the shadow cast by the eclipse rocking shadowclan’s foundation, the shadow cast by ashfur’s hatred nearly killing the three, the shadow cast by leafpool’s past leading to ashfur’s death. lots of long shadows in this book! 7/10
Sunrise: blah blah dark times new beginning. 2/10 for stealing dawn’s symbolism
The Fourth Apprentice: this book is a constant cause of confusion for me. there are five apprentices in this book. if you list them in a certain chronological order i guess dovepaw could be considered the fourth but thats kind of counter intuitive. the only “fourth” she is would be involvement in this stupid prophecy. it would be a 0/10 but the title is extremely memorable and how i referred to the series instead of “omen of the stars” as a kid. 1/10
Fading Echos: the symbolism of ivypaw seeing herself as her sister’s echo along with the dark forest cats being an echo of the past is amazing but i have to deduct points because hawkfrost explains the symbolism to her. 6/10
Night Whispers: i think this is referring to the whispers of the dark forest cats? there is also a shadowclan cat named nightwhisper who isnt listed in the allegiances but we know exists and is alive at this point because of battles of the clans. 4/10
Sign of the Moon: they get a sign from the moon to waste our time walking to the mountains again. also half moon probably gives a sign. 4/10
The Forgotten Warrior: hollyleaf returns but i didnt think anyone forgot about her. the real forgotten warrior is lionblaze who hasnt had character development for six books now
The Last Hope: i have a hard time believing firestar’s existence was essential to them defeating the dark forest. ivypool did more to help the clans than any of the prophecy cats did. 2/10
The Sun Trail: the cats do follow a trail marked by the sun’s position. 4/10
Thunder Rising: a cat named thunder is growing larger and there’s also a storm in the book. 5/10 very literal
The First Battle: this isnt the first battle thats taken place but its the first one thats mattered in any way. 4/10
The Blazing Star: this book centers around the cats finding a flower called a blazing star to get rid of a sickness in the forest, while also driving out the sickness that is one eye. 6/10
A Forest Divided: the forest gets divided into five clans when tall shadow arbitrarily decides to move to the marsh that they haven’t entered in the entire time theyve been here
Path of the Stars: icnanot se ret the nckepyobard therough my ctears. h/10
The Apprentice Quest: 3/6 of the cats on the quest in this book are apprentices, not bad. 5/10
Thunder and Shadow: the clans focused on in this book are thunderclan and shadowclan, props for communicating that title. 4/10
Shattered Sky: skyclan is pretty shattered but this feels more like skyclan getting back together than it does them breaking apart? misleading 3/10
The Darkest Night: probably the worst shadowclan has been in a long time, shadowclan is commonly associated with night and this is their darkest moment. get it. 6/10
River of Fire: riverclan catches on fire at some point but it’s not really relevant to the actual plot. actually does this book have a plot? 4/10
The Raging Storm: the storm is actually the focal point of this book so props for that. also probably refers to thunderclan’s rage at dovewing existing. 6/10
Lost Stars: their connection to starclan is lost
