Okay so – I just realized something (that people have probably realized before me but whatever). In s2e01 of 9-1-1 when Buck asks about Eddie's name, he tells him he can't just go by "Eddie" when the rest of the crew all go by nicknames – nicknames which includes Hen, short for Henrietta. He really should have no issue with "Eddie", as it's short for Edmundo after all.

Except... Buck doesn't know that. When he asks if Eddie is short for what turns out to be the wrong name, Eddie only answers no and doesn't offer the correct one. Buck goes on to ask about his last name, seemingly assuming "Eddie" is, in fact, his full name.

Which seems weird – Eddie and Chim certainly thinks so – but of course it makes sense to Buck that Eddie's full name would just be "Eddie".

His sister's full name is literally Maddie after all.
