Skyrim fashion
Over the years I’ve created a lot of different outfits for my characters. As in, I’ve downloaded lots of different mods, tweaked certain mods in various ways, and experimented a lot.
A while back, I finally reached the point where I said “fuck it” and created a mod-profile specifically for trying out different outfits, and then I’d screenshot those outfits so that I could think about it outside of the game for a bit.
This turned out to be... extensive, because obviously not every outfit suits every race or regular appearance (skin color, etc), and small tweaks in the design can still be notably different.
Still, I thought it could be fun to share a few of the outfits I’ve created over the years, with the mods that I’ve used, and a clear mention if I’ve done any weird tweaks to any textures to get it to look like that.
My most recent outfit:
Tumblr media
Red Hood and Red Robes (Lind’s Retexture). Mask of Blades (Mask of Blades). Crimson Linen Cloak (Cloaks of Skyrim). Daedric Arrows (Daedric Glows). Vampire Gloves and Vampire Boots (Dawnguard DLC). Vampire Eyes (Ruby Red Vampire Eyes).
The Ruby-Eyes is technically tweaked in that I used “Glowing Eyes and Glowing Vampire Eyes” and then overwrote one of its textures with the one from Ruby Red, because my character doesn’t change appearance after being turned. Also, my saturation is slightly boosted here by Imaginator.
An old favorite:
Tumblr media
Skaal Heavy Armor, Gloves, Boots (Skaal Heavy Armor). Banded Iron Shield (vanilla). Timber Wolf Skin Cloak (Winter Is Coming). White Armored Fur Hood (Fur Hood HD). Goggles (Kankaraya). Leather Black Sacrament Cowl (Arise). Forsworn Dagger (Forsworn Dagger).
The cloak is partially desaturated to make it less yellowish around the neck. The goggles are slightly desaturated to make them more silvery (I’ve also technically pulled them out of the original shop-mod, because that part of it felt needlessly complicated). The cowl has been painstakingly retextured by erasing the “leather” part and replacing it with the textures from the hood. And the dagger has been fixed in the Creation Kit to actually be a dagger (it’s a beautiful mesh/texture, but the Creation Kit was clearly a rush-job).
A much older outfit:
Tumblr media
Forsworn Gloves, Boots (Forsworn Robes). Forest Stalker Jerkin (Triss Armor Retextured). Mask of Blades (Mask of Blades). Brown Hood (Lind’s Retexture). Brown Burlap Cloak (Cloaks of Skyrim).
Mask of Blades is darkened to keep it from shining like a beacon. (Outfit was discontinued because a small but awkward gap between the lowest boot and the pants around the knee.)
A newer version:
Tumblr media
Forest Stalker Jerkin, Boots, Gloves (Triss Armor Retextured). Brown Hood (Lind’s Retexture). Brown Burlap Cloak (Cloaks of Skyrim). Goggles (Kankaraya). Leather Black Sacrament Cowl (Arise). Iron Arrows (Vanilla).
The goggles are slightly desaturated. Again the cowl has been painstakingly retextured using the textures of the hood, because you can’t touch the metal-parts of it without it messing up the mesh somehow.
Another heavy armor:
Tumblr media
Nordic Carved Armor, Gauntlets, Boots, Shield (Practical Female Armors). Black Wolf Skin Cloak (Winter Is Coming). Blindfold (Blindfolds of Skyrim + Blindfolds revised).
Nothing is actually modified here.
A light armor one:
Tumblr media
Leather Black Sacrament Armor, Gauntlets, Boots, Cowl (Arise). Forsworn horns (TDN Equipable Horns). Linen Cloak (Cloaks of Skyrim). Hood (Dragonscale Hood). Vampire Eyes (Ruby Red Vampire Eyes).
The Arise armor-piece is slightly modified to remove a red patch right around the chest. The hood has been painstakingly retextured to have the scale-pattern across its entire length, and the cloak has been retextured in the same manner.
Another robe:
Tumblr media
Expert Robe (self-made retexture). Forsworn Gloves, Boots (Forsworn Robes). Forsworn horns (TDN Equipable Horns). Brown Hood (Lind’s Retexture). Blindfold (Blindfolds of Skyrim + Blindfolds Revised). Scar from (XCE - Xenius Character Enhancement). Pose from (Orc Female Animations).
The Expert Robe is basically just somewhat selectively “brown-ified”.
