FUTURE DREAMS S5 ♥ SCENARIO SOLO
“can I place myself in your shoes?”
Jaekyung isn’t surprised that this was part of the competition. A ranking system was usually required when you were looking for the best. Especially when it was a solo that everyone was fighting over winning. There would only be one winner and Jaekyung was quite content that it wouldn’t be her. She was here to leave an impression and make people remember her, make them groan and whine and complain that it hadn’t been her who won the solo and keep on their seat to wait for the next project legacy would place her into.
She was born to stand on stage in the spotlight but she was no unrealistic dreamer. There were trainees far more talented out there she couldn’t keep up with- yet.
“Somewhere in the upper middle. Probably top ten? Or just right outside of it- Maybe rank 11? I know I have my talents but so do the others. It’s hard to predict really- there are so many factors that play into this. There are more famous trainees, those who have been around longer than me or those who are just more talented and had to work less to get to where I am now,” she explains with a shrug of her shoulder. “As long as I’m not bottom half I’ll sleep peacefully,” she concludes with a firm nod, lips widening into a bright smile.
It doesn’t falter when asked to pitch herself up against three trainees in the respective three major categories and Jaekyung only lets her smile turn more mischievous as she already knows exactly who she’s picking.
“Well for starters- my sister ( @lgcchaekyung ) for rapping. She keeps claiming she can surpass me but she has yet to do so. If she wants a chance at beating me- well she’s a better dancer but I’m a better singer. So the even ground would most likely be rap. I’d work my ass off to put the little rascal in her place,” she responds in good nature, laughing while jokingly raising a fist up dramatically.
Lowering it once again to instead clap her hands together the female happily chatters on. “For singing it has to be Parker ( @lgcparker ). I know this may sound cocky but I don’t really see competition for me as a vocalist among what I’ve seen from the girls participating in future dreams. So I’d love to go up against Parker. That would be a real challenge for me. I may very likely lose but I would definitely not make it easy for him and it would be an amazing performance regardless in my opinion.” Another firm nod follows her musing, gaze tilted upwards as she envisions how well their vocals would harmonize as they’d slay down a song that left everyone either crying or at the edge of their seats in awe.
“Hmm and as for dancing,” she continues, forcing herself out of her fantasy to instead flash a genuine, soft smile. “Areum ( @lgcareum ). She’s a friend that I’ve learned a lot from since I came to legacy. Areum always inspired me to be a better dancer while never shying away from helping me achieve that. I aspire to be as good of a dancer as her!”

Where was your muse when the Calamity happened? Did they lose someone because of it? (♥ hello I crave lore!)
FFXIV MSQ-RELATED ASKS
SCREE hallo!! ily come play with us TAT me miss u!!!
i was going to try to write this short but i got carried away rip mb
Biff wasn't the Warrior of Light, but he was fighting at the battle of Carteneau. He was traveling with Una Nelhah, who is the prior WoL in Biff's universe, and who was like a big sister to him. His birthday coincides with the Rising because he turned 18 the day of the battle (he starts his journey at 17). The only companion who is still with him from those days is S'dennmo Jinh (she was turning 17 at the time), but that's not something he remembered until ShB...
Una was protective of both Biff and Dennmo, since they were so young and both started adventuring out of a sense of displacement. She could relate strongly to this because she herself had been fighting on the Bloodsands from a ludicrously young age. Having had to lift herself up, she didn't want others to suffer the same injustices and misfortunes alone. Her arms were the sword and shield.
Biff and S'dennmo, who both started as archers, diverge into Warrior and Bard respectively by the time of Carteneau. Biff put his littlest of ten brothers rage into the axe, and had come to the battlefield having fought with his mother about whether or not he should fight (as one might imagine, Bea was very against the idea). So he fights with all his strength, relentlessly and recklessly, and he is incredibly strong for his age and skill level. He doesn't feel invincible, but he believes he can at least survive, and in doing so desperately believes he will prove to his mother that he is a man at last.
Then Dalamud falls. Fire crashes over the battlefield in vicious waves. He is afraid and he regrets not telling his mother that he loved her, despite everything. All he wants is to put his head in her lap again. But he knows he must fight to the last. He may be foolish, but no one will call him a coward. Louisoix's light is cutting through the dark, grabbing adventurers within range from the field, but he won't make it. The spell and spellcaster are too far away. He can't make it.
Except Una is suddenly pulling him and dragging him across the field. Against all odds, against a backdrop of flame, smoke and kicked up dust. He screams in rebellion at her, he is slowly her down, he can't get to his feet. She can't hear him. He can't hear himself. Then, she throws him, and he is suddenly engulfed in a haven of brilliance. He reaches to her, but she disappears, like the world, in chaotic darkness.
He doesn't remember any of this when he wakes up, one day, free of the spell. He doesn't remember Una or S'dennmo or any of their friends. He remembers bits of the adventure, sure, but he isn't very clever. His heart is shaken up. Their faces flash before his eyes, and it hurts keenly. So he doesn't give it much thought. The body tells you it isn't well with pain. And he's never been one to forget the important things... until, years and years later, the Light overruns his soul and he remembers the woman who saved him, the woman who burned instead of him. And the girl who survived all this time, alone -- Little Dennmo, scared and shy and quiet -- the girl he failed as a brother.
This is how I set it up so Biff has no memory of legacy, but so that it exists! S'dennmo wasn't pulled into a different dimension, so she's one of the few people who survived the Calamity, except her journey is difficult because no one else seems to remember the Warriors of Light but her! And when she finds Biff again during the events of ARR, she is overjoyed to know he is alive -- but distressed that, like everybody else, he doesn't remember either!
So that's the long/short version of that LOL, it inspired my character playlist for Biff which I may or may not have shared constantly, and I still haven't gotten to write too much about it outside of mentions... but hopefully that will end as I keep posting chapters of Biff's fic!
