ahhh cw for negativity.
i, too, long for plots. i feel like ppl really don't care about me, my muse, my desire to plot, or the oodles of meta i've written for hyth because at the end of the day, most ppl just want to ship with him or have a hyth muse on their ship roster and that's it, or its ppl who only ever really interact with me to like or comment on the occasional n/sf/w post out of the blue (which kinda makes me feel like both myself and my muse are being objectified, ngl) i do enjoy shipping, but this kind of behaviour is making me NOT want to ship with anybody period. i will also add that i love shipping for the sake of building a greater plot or dynamic. i want to have ships that exist for the sake of building stories. imo, that's the good kush.
i haven't been able to really find anyone who wants to do that, despite having been here for over a year. i really feel that for whatever reason, most ppl do not and/or cannot match my energy wrt writing and plotting (and to realistic, i definitely don't expect anyone to match my energy wrt portraying their muse to the extent that i do; i only ask that my energy be somewhat matched in the writing department), and while there are many valid (and often irl-related) reasons for that, it is nevertheless depressing and discouraging for me (and i will be th first to admit that im a slippery devil, i lose muse, and i drop threads due to my own energy levels and irl circumstances. it happens to everyone but like...damn. i do kinda feel like i put more into things than i recieve in turn. i am typically the one who approaches others first, and i feel like i'm silently expected to, which kind of spoils things.) as an accomplished writer w multiple degrees, i am more than capable of writing fic on my own, but i crave the collaborative worldbuilding that comes from rp, and that's literally why i'm here! it's also why you see me constantly talking about potential dynamics between hyth and other muses. (and if said proposed dynamic dosn't suit you or if you have a different idea, then please let me know so we can build something awesome together!) by that same virtue, i feel that i need to be more honest with myself and about what dynamics and muses do and don't interest me.
additionally, i very much feel like i'm generally the one who is expected to have plot ideas (and seeing multiple friends say the same thing, i do feel like this is a reflection of a larger issue of ppl who write canon muses/npcs constantly being expected to do the most, like we're always the ones who are supposed to have the plot ideas and we're magically expected to know about others' muses despite them having no about pages and not really telling us anything.) it places a lot of burden on me when ppl do this, especially when most ppl who do this dont have a detailed dossier or about page for their character. like. i don't know what the fuck i'm doing, i don't know about your muse, and i cannot read your mind. it's a really unfair and unreasonable way to treat ppl imo and makes rp more of a...weirdly one-off transactional process, which gives me horrendous vibes tbh? a lot of the plot ideas i personally have involve specific muses and have specific stipulations, which just don't seem to interest people or don't involve specific types of characters.

the new side story was SOOO good omg... it makes me feel like i've been writing him fairly accurately in terms of personality/abilities, although i did originally want to avoid hyth and e met being friends when they were kids, i guess that's canon now 😭

it's an L for the ancients enjoyers, yall.
oh girl, i'm absolutely ignoring the absolute bullshit nonanswer given to the question of whether other nations and cultures existed outside a.maurot. im choosing to interpret "the c.onvocation represented all of mankind and had jurisdication over the entire star by the time the wol visits e.lpis" as members of the c.onvocation not necessarily all being from am.aurot + the c.onvocation having some loose level of involvement with the rest of the world, because if they controlled the entire world and everything as discovered and in nigh-perfect communication and awareness of each other, then that largely negates the need for the existence of the seat of a.zem in the first place lmaoo; im pretty sure they're specifically cited as travelling to make contact with other cultures and to discover things, not to mention it would make no sense for the existence of the seat of e.lidibus, who is supposed to be an emissary. that's also an incredibly hard sell when you tell me that unsundered e.theirys was bigger than than the reflections + the attitude of this statement is very much reminescent of a.merica thinking that it is the world's police force irl which is very very very uncomfortable and leans into themes of n.eo-i.mperialism that simply do not belong with the primary notion of a world that was largely at harmony with itself.
i hope this is a case of bad localization/translation or devs just Not Really Having Lore on the world u.nsundered outside of a.maurot and the island with the grapes that a.zem visits in the short story, otherwise it's laughably horrible writing that contradicts itself in too many ways to function.
i generally try to be forgiving of when the devs contradict their own lore, especially when its small shit like forgetting a detail written in an ARR sidequest, but this is the fuckiest shit ever. like, the devs could not even decide whether or not the convocation are elected officials despite NPCs in amaurot mentioning that they were elected, and then hermes being made fandaniel being purely nepotistic due to the previous fandaniel delcaring him his successor, and then EE3 has en excerpt that says they're elected once again. girl what.
furthermore, if amaurot has jurisdiction over the entire fucking star then why the fuck is there discourse between npcs in shb over whether or not amaurot should help out overseas or not? amaurot having some level of separation from the outside world was one of the underlying themes throughout shb and holy shit this is shrimply too much halfassery and negligence for my gay little brain to comprehend. the more contradictions you have, the more you have to explain and reinforce shit, otherwise the whole thing falls apart and becomes illogical and implausible.

it genuinely so funny to me that the devs are really pulling a to.dd ho.ward-tier "the story is over! everyone found peace! it just works!" despite mountains of evidence in their own writing that suggests that the ae.therial sea is NOT peaceful or stable at all right now. even though the w.ol dealt with the threats mentioned above, their presence (like primals having an impact on the land) would indubitably have lasting impacts on the aetherial sea, ESPECIALLY w what a.thena did, never mind the sudden absence of hydaelyn/zodiark after 12k++ years (the twelve alone cannot completely fix this/fill this void because they are literally just hyd.aelyn's creations, meaning that they're Not as strong as she was (and never mind that hy.daelyn was barely keeping shit together and the sea was already a Wreck when we ran the aitiascope!!!) although i think their actions restored SOME MEASURE of stability to the planet, although that would be far from a fix-all for all the fucked up shit going on.) and yeah never mind that there are probably like millions of unsu.ndered ancient osuls, whose presence is also loosely alluded to fucking up aetheric levels in a tidbit of dialogue from a FSH quest. i understand the desire to move on and write a new expansion but this is probably the most anticlimactic, contrived, and poorly-thought out series of "endings" i've encountered for a while jsdgdg. i think it would be a lot more profound to have ancients adapt to the new world personally, since they're probably going to reincarnate into it anyway, and a lot of their memories will likely remain due to the sea being at a little over half its usual strength bc of the s.undering. the wol's intervention and defeating of a.thena and the zillion other things she spawned in the sea isn't going to be an instafix for the damage that was done either. i really wish we could Stop acting like the wol is capable of fixing Everything, bc they can't.. and consistently relying on that in writing terms is boring, predictable, and not well thought out. one solution cannot undo a problem sometimes, and i think it's important to explore that!

i feel like hyth would be kinda confused abt the concept of an archon loaf, like why it's nasty despite being nutrient-dense, bc this wasn't as much of an issue with food generated by creation magic. of course he asks emet, his resident expert on Weird Sundered Things, and his answer is probably something to the effect of "skill issue"
