I love wuthering heights, but I think the internet is full of the worst takes known to man when it comes to this book. the characters are all awful and yet people jump through hoops to excuse all of them and then turn around and blame it all on *checks notes* the unreliable narrator who also happens to be a servant with virtually no power except for the fact that she is generally tolerated by all the characters in the book. "it's like nelly dean doesn't even care about the rich kids that make her life a living hell!!" good. she shouldn't.
