edit: just in case this wasn't clear, I didn't edit this in any way. The pink filter? the music? was all Impulsesv himself.

I think a lot is about to change in ewoatt and hopeless fountain kingdom symbolizes that like the new era of Halsey = new era of ewoatt if that makes sense. you said quavo's part in why lie was inspo and that surprised me but also made me super excited thats why I'm saying all this lol
you are 100% right. badlands, halsey’s first album, continues to be a massive source of inspiration for eyes wide open all the time and the arcs thus far kind of vibed with the dark, adventurous feel of badlands. but hopeless fountain kingdom focuses on a deeper, more personal sort of shift, and it manifests ewoatt’s final arc flawlessly. here’s some songs off the new album that specifically reminded me of the changes about to come for certain characters / couples in the final arc! & halsey’s vevo uploaded the tracks this morning so just click on the song titles to listen. :)
lie (quavo verse): makoto & haruI heard what you said You talkin’ bout your head gamesI know that it’s fire flame Your mouth make a hurricane You notice that we in love That’s something we cannot change It’s the plans we should arrange Bring back the title Got no one to lie toThere’s no need to lie no more Bring me a trial Every move’s vitalWhat you gon’ die forWhen every day you told lies
heaven in hiding: sousuke & rin Sittin’ on the counter in your kitchenCan you hear my heartbeat fucking kickin’?Your eyes light up ‘cause you best believeThat I got something up my sleeveI walk my talk, no time for wishful thinkingI push up on my toes, you call me “sweet thing”And when you start to feel the rushA crimson headache, aching blushAnd you surrender to the touch, you’ll knowI can put on a show, I can put on a showDon’t you see what you’re finding? This is Heaven in hiding
devil in me: haruNow I gotta wake it upNow I gotta wake it upNow I gotta wake it upThe devil in me Come back to life
hopeless: makoto & haruCause you know the truth hurtsBut secrets killCan’t help thinkin’ that I love it stillStill here, there must be something real‘Cause you know the good die youngAnd so it must be better than I think it isGimme those eyes, it’s easy to forgive Hopeless changes over time.
now or never: makoto & haru / sousuke & rin Baby, I done, done enough talkingNeed to know that you’re mineBaby, we done, done enough talkingGotta be right now, right nowBaby, gon’ love me nowNow or neverI want you to hold me downDown forever,Said you know I wanna keep you around'Round foreverI want you to love me nowNow or never
the prologue: makoto & haru / haru
(note: so in the first part of this song, halsey reads the prologue of romeo & juliet and it just gave me makoharu vibes but the song part is what reminds me of haru)i am a child of a money hungry, prideful countrygrass is green and it’s always sunnyhands so bloody, tastes like honeyi’m finding it hard to leave
sorry: rinSorry that I can’t believe that anybody ever reallyStarts to fall in love with meSorry I could be so blind
don’t play: haruNow you know where the bottle goneDrippin’ so wet with the PérignonI am not the type to admit I’m onHow could I lie when we sip so strong? Yeah, don’t even trapMotherfucker, don’t play with me Motherfucker, I don’t play no games
