11: 35 a.m. Jin Zixuan drives him home and Jiang Cheng is so full of nervous energy, he reciprocates Jin Zixuan’s small talk. He forgets what they’re talking about while they’re talking about it, it’s so boring. To Jiang Cheng’s horror, Jin Zixuan says “Good talk!”, with a short, grateful nod before he drives away. Did they… has he accidentally bonded?! Is Jin Zixuan now going to gravitate towards him during family-related social events, hoping to have another “good talk”?

Fuck! Wei Wuxian, stop ruining my fucking life!

She rolls her eyes, as he expected her to, about his use of ‘unnecessarily big words’. “The per-pe-traders were… well, anyone. Enemies, friends, lovers. Who hasn’t tried to stab me at some point is the better question.” She grins in a way that usually tells him he’ll be somewhat annoyed by what she says next. “Technically, you also tried to stab me in my sleep. With pointy things.”

“Excuse me, do not lump me in with those vile-“

“I know.” For a moment, her face softens, as though she’s afraid her comment has hurt him. Then she lifts an eyebrow and gives him a slightly feral grin. “Do you really think you’d still be around if I’d actually thought you wanted to kill me back then?”

He stares into her eyes for a few seconds while his fingers trace the scars on her neck once more. “No. No, I don’t.”
