actually now I'm wondering how many party members you could actively eliminate in a single da2 playthrough (after recruiting them all) and I think you can whittle the party pool down to just two. isabela won't leave in the climax so she's gotta go to the arishok. keep anders alive so sebastian will leave but then side with the templars and fight anders and merrill to the death. gotta sell fenris back into slavery beforehand, then. pick your choice of death for your siblings, maybe keep bethany alive for the entire game only to let meredith kill her right at the end. that leaves you with a depressing little party of varric and aveline. dang.
