Unpopular opinion, but the new Persuasion isn't so bad compared to Emma 2020, which was also shitty.

#It looks cheaper than Emma and the music set design costumes and cinematography aren't as beautiful #but I suspect they had a lower budget (or hope it's because of that xD) #Yet I find the cast was overall better except for Anne herself who was terrible (although I didn't like Taylor-Joy as Emma much either) #The script was awful in both cases. The comedy air fits Emma far better and it couldn't fit Persuasion any less #and in that sense Emma works better #But both films got rid of important side plots characters and relationships to play with some other things they invented #and both films butchered many of the protagonists' main personality traits and relationships as well #only in Emma it's less noticeable because she's more outgoing #I'm not saying Persuasion (2022) is a good film but I've seen Emma (2020) often praised in comparison and I don't see that big a difference #It gives me the impression that the Internet is experiencing now something similar to what I experienced when Emma (2020) came out #It looked better but that too was a very silly movie that tried to be funny and misunderstood on purpose the text #I talk too much #I should probably delete this later
