LeBron James expected to meet with Warriors, Rockets, Sixers, Celtics this summer When NBA free agency kicks off on July 1st, LeBron James is expected to decide where he'll like to spend the rest of his prime after his most prolific postseason ever. According to ESPN's Stephen A. Smith (via Clevis Murray of The Athletic), James is expected to hold meetings with top championship contenders, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics, and the Golden State Warriors. After the report surfaced on social media, Smith defended his reporting against a critic who questioned his sources. DB @DB868 6 Jun There’s absolutely no reason for Lebron to meet with the Warriors lol. @stephenasmith sources have been notoriously wrong year after year. He’s actually very bad for the game of basketball. Stephen A Smith ✔ @stephenasmith Absolutely False. My track record is on the record. There’s a difference between giving an opinion and reporting. And I’m not wrong when I report because I don’t have to care about being first. Just being right. 9:10 AM - Jun 6, 2018 549 115 people are talking about this Twitter Ads info and privacy Philadelphia is intriguing. Yesterday, former Cavs general manager David Griffin explained why the Sixers have a "leg up" on the competition in LeBron James' free-agency sweepstakes. The pending Bryan Colangelo situation is a negative, but Philadelphia has a lot to offer. With two of the NBA's brightest stars in Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, the No. 10 pick in the upcoming draft, and the cap space to sign a free agent to a max contract. But could James mesh Simmons? A guy that plays the same position as him, and needs the ball in his hands (just like him) to be effective on the court. For Boston, things get a little dicey. Kyrie Irving and Marcus Smart are looking for new contracts, and who says Irving will even sign off on bringing James aboard, less than a year from demanding a divorce from Cleveland? Not to mention, Boston already has injured star forward Gordon Hayward coming back next season, the NBA's last elite rookie standing in Jayson Tatum and a rapidly improving Jaylen Brown. The Celtics would have to surrender one of their star players to acquire James (likely a sign-and-trade). Houston would be presented with a similar problem. With Daryl Morey looking to retain Chris Paul and Clint Capela this summer, bringing James aboard appears unlikely. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Paul Paul wants no less than the max to re-sign with Houston. A contract which could grant him over $200 million over five seasons by the time he turns 37. The Rockets would have to pass on re-signing CP3 to get James. Golden State would need to perform a boatload of moves this summer to acquire the four-time MVP. But this remains a longshot. Not to mention, James electing to sign with Golden State if the Warriors vanquish him in the Finals again, could damage his legacy. According to oddsshark, the Rockets are the +150 favorites, with the 76ers (+300), Cavaliers (+350), Lakers (+400), Golden State Warriors (+1600), Los Angeles Clippers (+1800) and Miami Heat (+2500) listed as the next likeliest candidates. http://ift.tt/eA8V8J El NBA 2K sigue desvelando sus novedades de cara a su edición para la temporada 2017-2018. Cuéntanoslo Atlanta Hawks Titulares: Lou Hudson (91), Joe Johnson (89), Bob Pettit (95), Dominique Wilkins (94), Dikembe Mutombo (92) Reservas: Kevin Willis (87), Steve Smith (87), Pete Maravich (87), Paul Millsap (87), Doc Rivers (85), Al Horford (85), Jeff Teague (85), Kyle Korver (84), Stacey Augmon (81), Spud Webb (80) Boston Celtics Bob Cousy (95), John Havlicek (96), Paul Pierce (94), Larry Bird (98), Bill Russell (98) Kevin McHale (95), Dave Cowens (94), Robert Parish (93), Sam Jones (92), Kevin Garnett (91), Isaiah Thomas (89), Rajon Rondo (89), Ray Allen (88), Tom Heinsohn (88), Antoine Walker (87) Brooklyn Nets Jason Kidd (95), Drazen Petrovic (90), Julius Erving (97), Buck Williams (88), Brook Lopez (87) Vince Carter (89), Richard Jefferson (87), Derrick Coleman (87), Joe Johnson (87), Deron Williams (87), Kenyon Martin (86), Devin Harris (86), Kenny Anderson (86), Kendall Gill (86), Keith Van Horn (86) Charlotte Hornets Kemba Walker (86), Eddie Jones (88), Glen Rice (89), Larry Johnson (88), Alonzo Mourning (88) Muggsy Bogues (85), Raymond Felton (81), Baron Davis (85), Stephen Jackson (83), Dell Curry (85), Kendall Gill (85), P.J. NFL Offseason - LA Rams Wishlist
So I wrote this up about a week and a half ago, but never published it.  So I guess better late than never.
Here is my wishlist for the Rams this offseason!
Before I start I think it is important to post the current depth chart (copied straight from Rams site):
QB:  Jared Goff, Sean Mannion
RB:  Todd Gurley, Malcolm Brown, Aaron Green
FB:  ?
WR:  Tavon Austin, Mike Thomas, Pharoh Cooper, Stedman Bailey
TE:  Tyler Higbee
LT:  Greg Robinson, Pace Murphy
LG:  Rodger Saffold
C:  Demetrius Rhaney
RG:  Cody Wichmann, Andrew Donnal
RT:  Rob Havenstein
LE:  Ethan Westbrook, Matt Longacre
DT:  Aaron Donald, Dominique Easley
DT:  Michael Brockers
RE:  William Hayes, Morgan Fox
OLB:  Mark Barron?
MLB:  Alec Ogletree, Bryce Hager, Mic Grigsby
OLB:  ?
CB:  LaMarcus Joyner
CB:  EJ Gaines, Mike Jordan
FS:  Maurice Alexander, Cody Davis
SS:  Isaiah Johnson
With the new staff, I can only assume there will be major changes, especially on the defense.  I am pumped for the potential to have a 3-4 Defense, that being said we have a few holes to fill.  Our Defensive Ends need to be able to play as a linebacker and I just don’t think Hayes is capable.  A big problem for the Rams this offseason is the lack of picks.  If they could trade Hayes for picks that would be great.
So my initial reaction is that the team needs to address the following positions in Free Agency before the draft:  QB (backup), RB (#2), WR (#1), OT (#1), C(#1), OLB, DB (x2).
I picked out guys for each position that I thought should be targets, in parentheses are other intriguing options):
QB:  Matt Barkley - just need a backup, bring the LA guy back where he spent his college days.  (Johnny Manziel?  Case Keenum return?)
RB:  Jamaal Charles - Injuries plague Charles, so maybe going somewhere where he can get less touches but still be an integral part of the offense is a good thing?  (Chris Johnson and/or Reggie Bush would be awesome pickups)
WR:  Desean Jackson or Alshon Jeffery - We need a splash, DJAX played for Sean McVay (new Rams Head Coach) in Washington so he is my top pick.  (Robert Woods could come back to LA, Victor Cruz could fit in here)
TE:  Martellus Bennett is the prized TE in the FA class, so he should be top target.  (Larry Donnell, Jeff Cumberland)
OT:  Ryan Clady, Andrew Whitworth, Matt Kalil - Any of these three would be awesome.  I don’t see any other top tier guys that intrigue me.
OG:  (if OT isn’t addressed, then we get to play around with OGs) - TJ Lang is a dude.  Would love to see him in a Rams Jersey.  (Jonathan Cooper, Hugh Thornton)
C:  NICK MANGOLD - plz
DE/OLB:  for the 3-4 scheme!  Mario Williams, Elvis Dumervil or Alex Okafor.
ILB:  Mark Herzlich and Manti Te’o are awesome #2 ILB options to help out Ogletree.
CB:  Bring back Trumaine Johnson if possible, but also look at these guys - Morris Claiborne, Darelle Revis, Kyle Wilson.
S:  Bring back TJ McDonald please.
K:  No one cares.
So now is the fun part.  The NFL Draft!
We have the following picks:  2nd Rd, 3rd Rd (Compensatory), two 4th Rd, 5th Rd, two 6th Rd, and a 7th Rd.
Here are some targets by position that I think we could use:
WR:  JuJu Smith-Schuster - USC - round 2-4
OT:  Cam Robinson - Alabama - round 2-3
C:   Pat Elflein - Ohio State - round 2-3
LB:  Alex Anzalone - Florida - round 3-4
CB:  Adoree Jackson - USC - round 2-4
I’m anxious to see what the Rams do.  I could see us putting up 10 wins next year if we are able to address the holes and spend a little $$$
