BTW, if you're wondering why there are so many Simpsons episodes, it's because this list was originally just a list of Simpsons episodes I hated. And if you're wondering why fellow long-runner Family Guy has so few, it's because I cut it some slack for a long time due to it being the internet reviewing community's whipping boy.

A curiosity came to me; if you would you find appealing to replace the original VA's from SatAM if some miracle of a reboot or long overdue sequel came to fruition? Actor deaths aside, sometimes it's hard to gather the gang back together, so in your opinion who would fit the bill for Sonic and gang?
It’s something I’ve mulled over. Given the way Nostalgia tends to be mined this day at the expense of allowing newer stuff to be done, I’ve become somewhat loathe towards the idea of redoing everything exactly as it was, and as such I’m a tad open to the idea of new VA’s if any of the old cast were to ever show up in any medium with voice acting. Which at this rate will be some time shortly after the Second Coming.
Anyway, these are who I think would be great-
Sonic the Hedgehog- Jason Marsden (Max Goof)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDECHLbrFnw
I’ve long thought Marsden would make for a great Sonic. He’s got the right combination of youthful that lends itself well to impudence and cockiness, while having an emotional range to lend weight to Sonic outside of him being ‘cool’.
Tails- Zachary Tyler Eisen (Avatar Aang)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4bevJm-MbI
Okay, this one requires a bit of context- this is really more of a ‘I would picture him generally sounding like this’ situation than anything, as I know that one of the great difficulties in casting pre-teen boy VAs is that eventually they hit puberty. AS such, this isn’t really a literal belief that Eisen could do it NOW, but whoever got the role I feel would work best if they sounded similar to Aang.
Sally Acorn- Mae Whitman (April O’Neil 2012)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dY0DUcg1QTY
Mae Whitman is perfect for the role of Sally due to the fact that her voice lends itself to maturity very well, while still retaining an obvious sense of her age. Does well that for that ‘aged beyond her years’ thing going on with poor, stressed out Sally.
Nicole- Tara Strong (Twilight Sparkle)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhW1Ymr9v2c
This one has a bit of a complex history- Nicole as originally envisioned was purely an AI, one with a suitably monotone voice. Which was great! But since that time Nicole developed vastly within Archie itself, and it’s hard to picture her as she initially started out. As such, I envision her having a voice that just screams ‘enthusiasm’, given her zest for discovery and testing out what she can do now.
Bunnie Rabbot- Lenore Zann (Rogue)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcTr3TqGaio
Lenore Zann’s rendition of a Dixie (and let’s be clear here, Bunnie’s accent IS a Dixie accent and not Texan) accent feels very on point for Bunnie, but more than that she is equal parts girly and rough and tumble, something that fits very perfectly for Bunnie given that she is at once very ladylike while being the front line bruiser of the team. More than that, given Rogue’s own issues with what her gifts have cost her, I feel she could easily handle the more emotional aspects of Bunnie’s character with regards to her roboticized limbs.
Antoine- Rob Paulsen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zveqLhj33oo
Truth be told? I don’t know any other voice actors who do exaggerated French accents in toons these days, or heck, french accents period. Antoine is difficult to re-cast given the accent and the fact he has a fairly high voice, so, I’d vote Rob Paulsen as a returning VA.... though perhaps with a chance to have a bit more dignity this time around.
Rotor-  Bobby Moynihan (Panda)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IB8hyLnrbc
This was a tough one, as in general I picture Rotor being very soft spoken and with a surprisingly high voice despite his size, one with a great capacity for gentleness while at the same time sounding older than his given age. That being said, I feel Bobby Moynihan could capture these qualities in Rotor very nicely.
Honorable Mention- Stephen Furst (Vir Cotto)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0n2vurSBIQ
Furst was actually my original choice for Rotor for a long time, at least until his unfortunate passing. Any voice for Rotor though I would envision as being fairly Furst-ish, so, I wanted to share anyway.
Dulcy- Ashley Tisdale (Candace Flynn)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGkLg5bME90
Ah, the red headed stepchild of the original SatAM cast. Admittedly this one took a while, but eventually I concluded that Tisdale’d be pretty Dulcy-ish. One thing you gotta remember with Dulcy is that she is at once younger than the other FFs (asides from Tails) but at the same time she still has a somewhat louder voice, as befits a dragon. As such? I feel Tisdale was a good fit.
Now that we got the FFs out of the way, onto the baddies!
Dr. Robotnik- Richard Newman (Phaeton)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TWKy_4JyEY
Richard Newman’s voice is one that I feel is perfect for ol’ Julian- it is at once refined, threatening, and most importantly capable of reaching that deliciously threatening baritone of the doc’s. Even better, it can switch between calculating coldness and frothing rage in an instant, which is a must for the ever volatile doc.
Secondary Choice- David Kaye (Megatron)
https://youtu.be/MBzCUbGMi5s?t=85
Newman alas is also kind of getting on in years, and the window of feasibility decreases ever much. If he wasn’t up to it though, fellow Beast Wars alum David Kaye would be another perfect fit. He’s got EVERYTHING needed to do the doc justice.
Snively- Steve Blum (Starscream)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XeNdga1oEI
This probably isn’t the first choice that’d come to mind, but I feel Blum’s Starscream voice would work rather well for the Snivster given that it can help emphasize his subservience to his uncle while also holding it’s own quality of menace while he’s pissed off.
Naugus- Mark Hamill (Skeleton King)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvE3mYDVLW4
Hamill’s non-Joker Evil Voice just SCREAMS Evil Wizard at every conceivable level, and unlike a lot of the other VA’s on this list his increasing age can only enhance the effect. At once whispery, harsh and spooky, Hamill would hit ALL the right notes for what I envision in Naugus.
