Roxy had come back to WWE after months of being away at AEW,appearing first at Extreme Rules,then Raw and finally Smackdown. After a moment Roxy sighed,looking down. “So...no I’m not okay.” She admitted, letting her guard down around AJ had always been too easy. “It’s Shane. He left and I didn’t even know it.”
AJ gave a disgruntled look at the mention of Shane Mcmahon and shook his head. “Shane’s an ass,I don’t know why you keep going back to him,seems to me like he does this alot.”
“Yeah well I have a tendency to fall for the pretty boy assholes.” Roxy commented,eyeing AJ.
If AJ took offense to the comment he didn’t show it. Instead he just gave a sigh of his own,closing his eyes in self reproach. “Rox look I’m...I am sorry about being an ass to you when Gallows and Anderson were around.” The words seemed visibly hard for AJ to say but they were sincere. “I’m different now.” He finished,hands on his hips.
Roxy’s expression softened as she gave him a small smile. “I can see that. And I’m sorry they left,I know that no matter my feelings about them,they were your Best Friends.” She said sympathetically.
“Still are.” Replied AJ, “But yeah it is what it is. I don’t blame myself for them leaving,not anymore. But that’s not why I’m here,I came to check up on you.” AJ gestured towards Roxy,raising his eyebrows.
“That’s the only reason,just to check up on me.” Roxy smirked,stepping closer.
AJ gave a dark chuckle at that,looking back at her with a sly grin. “I may have had an ulterior motive...but if you don’t think I’m good for you then...” AJ trailed off but she could tell he was trying to bait her.
She took it. “ I didn’t say that. I mean if you really have changed then well third time's the charm right?” Roxy replied,slowly trailing a hand up AJ’s vested chest.
AJ just looked down at Roxy,watching her do it. “That it is.” AJ said licking his lips,he snaked a hand around her waist,giving Roxy a hooded look,lust burning behind his eyes,but also the beginning of something more.
