Oh, she was lovely! So genuine and sweet! I was stimming like crazy when I was in the queue and when I got in front, I couldn't get my words out properly I was that starstruck! She released a song the day before called "Make it clean" and its a legit good song, listened to it on the way down and I ended up saying "Song!" "Love!" "Keeping...clean!" and she understood! I also drew a picture of her when she did her surface pleasure show in New York and she was like "That's me at my show!" and I like to think she appreciated being recognised for something other than Encanto.

Encanto is truly a once in a lifetime film for me, it was the right film at the right time. It gave me hope during a time where I didn't have much of it, my relationship with my mum was shit, I was considering not coming over for Christmas that year. But seeing Mirabel and Alma at the river hugging and Mirabel being acknowledged for her role and all she's done for the family really got to me. The last time there had been a piece of media that was the right thing at the right time was Glee back in 2010 I think it was? Encanto is still my favourite ever disney movie and I'm hoping to save up eventually and add to my mermaid tattoos with Luisa as a strong woman mermaid

I would have reacted the same if I ever got to meet her! She’s so precious! Just like the character she voices, Luisa 🫶🏼🥹 That art piece you did for her is beautiful! You can see how much she loves it. I bet it made her day receiving it and hearing all the feedback from you about her work, especially the non Encanto related stuff! I feel I gotta listen to these songs of hers now too! 😍

I’m sorry to hear you were having a rough time. I understand where you’re coming from, it’s the same for me. But I’m glad the film helped you to mend things with your Mum. The film and overall message behind the film is so wholesome. For me, Bruno is such a big comfort. He’s become an important part of my life and helped me through some very dark times with my own family. I feel his undying love and kindness helps teach me to try and be a better person too 🥹🫶🏼💚
