reading things about particularly young and online queer people/leftists without much experience with bigotry is a huge trip as someone who grew up completely surrounded by centrism

#saw a post about how saying we shouldnt give trans allies praise for the bare minimum is bad actually and we should be nice to allies #and was confused cause like 'dont praise allies for the bare minimum' means that if someone is only an ally when its convenient for them #or they turn on you the second allyship gets a little difficult or confusing #then absolutely do not bend over backwards to earn their allyship and dont praise them for their shitty values #but actually the post was targeted towards queer ppl who think that you shouldnt be nice to allies #or that you shouldnt thank nice ppl for remembering your pronouns and really trying #like. guy who knows way too much about centrism learns about guy who only accepts constant perfection #also i love being the guy who knows way too much about centrism and neoliberalism #i grew up with this shit then turned 15 and learned about a much nicer much happier thing #and now im surrounded by ppl who think centrists are insane. beautiful world. i thought i didnt have any other option
