Watched Wakanda Forever last night and my god Coogler did an amazing job depicting the stages of grief. Shuri (emphasis on her!), Nakia, the Queen, and Okoye were emotional powerhouses. Shuri's arc was beautiful and so well-done because it's rare to see depictions of women in mourning that are angry. Women that choose to direct that anger to themselves and the people around them. And it's shown as something raw but rational (esp since Shuri is considered to be logical), which is why anger is a prominent and dangerous aspect of grief. Namor embodies the danger of wrathful grief all too well. I'd watch Wakanda again for Shuri's trip to ancestral plane alone because that scene bares her soul for all of us to see. And what we see are two people that had their family unfairly taken away, one temporarily driven by grief-stricken vengeance and the other succumbing to it.
