what’s up youtube it’s my first post-semester entry

i don’t have to keep this blog going (probably?) but i will anyway.

and because it’s not for a grade i don’t have to use capitalization AND i can say fuck hahaha hell yeah >:D actually nothing was stopping me from doing so before but now i can truly go feral god bless

i haven’t worked on my senior project much, and i have been feeling stressed about that. so today i worked on drawing an official background for the first short of this goddamn project; the sketch (right) came out pretty good and i’m happy with it! most of the buildings are based off a photo i took while in d.c. today. three cheers for leaving the house and taking reference photos!

the lines (left) are giving me grief because i think i set up the perspective rule wrong in clip studio paint and i don’t know WHAT’S going on. but um it looks good to my sister so?? and it will only be on-screen for a few seconds. maybe im failing the art world or maybe i’m being too harsh on myself. idk.

i was initially going to model the backgrounds in maya and paint over them in photoshop etc. based off of something i saw another artist do, but my brain said maya? i don’t know her? and while the model i have isn’t awful, i don’t want to spend a bunch of time on a process that might not be super productive anyway.

anyway so i was doing that thing where i hit 4 months of working on a project and go “hm. im going to do something else.” i really really want to work on my current personal project about superheroes and stuff because i have this silly ambitious dream to turn it into a webseries or something one day—and i also want to storyboard out some ideas for a Tragic Backstory comic from that project—and i want to refine storyboards that i did for my test animation and build a storyboard portfolio To Prepare For My Future! because doing so might make me feel less dizzy about my future. idk.

but i can’t give up ! because this is my senior capstone project ! so i just have to push through until it’s done. good luck to me :’/
