Behind her the sky begins to turn blue, bleeding slowly up from the water like the ocean is holding tight to the sun, granting them just a bit more time to linger in this moment. “I’m in love with you,” she says again, resolute this time, before they are drawn together, letting the molten glow of the honey-gold sun breath life into heart and bone and soul as their lips touch in the softest of caresses: an act of worship and dedition.
