this is gonna sound so obvious to anybody who knows anything about cats but I just realized the reason my cat staring at me feels so persistent and strong is because cats don't fucking need to blink. they can just look at you forever. and I had to read this online just now to realize it! I literally never would have noticed that on my own

#like obviously I KNEW that I had never seen a cat blink #but the exact thought 'cats don't need to blink' never once crossed my mind #and now I'm thinking about how it would look if a cat did blink and how disturbing it would be #idk this is obviously a non-revelation but I love those moments where you suddenly understand something you had always just accepted
