Hope had become like sand. It was clung to with a tight grip but it slowly seeped out of grasp. As Margot’s fingers clutched onto the skinny steering wheel she reviewed her plan. To bait in slowly before going for the snatch, a technique learned from her early years though better for rabbits than for people. The air in Arizona was dry and felt brittle when it snuck through the thin cracks in the driver’s side window. Slowing and pulling into the parking lot of what she prayed was the right club caused a tinge of dread balling in her stomach. Dread from the thought of heat  enveloping her bare neck, and how it would stay for weeks. Margot placed the truck in park, and pushed her body from the seat to the piping concrete.

He was never very good at this whole ‘stealing’ gig. It went against his moral code, he was usually far too big and noticeable to go undetected. Stealth was a strong point of his, as was his ability to run away when he was inevitably caught - but the actual art of stealing? Not really an art for Sam Winchester.

He cursed to himself as he took off running down the street. He had an apple in one hand, and a bag of white cheddar popcorn in the other. Not the most balanced of meals, but it would keep him from starving tonight at the least and he had no intention of letting them go unless he was caught.

Another thing he had no intention of letting happen.

He turned a sharp corner and, with all of his impeccably good luck today, managed to smash right into a much smaller body. 

“Uh sorry - sorry. I didn’t mean - are you okay?” he croaked out between heavy pants, looking back over his shoulder to make sure the cops weren’t still on his tail. They weren’t dangerously close, but he could still hear shuffling and disruption in the distance. He turned back to the woman he nearly mauled and offered a nervous smile. “I’m uh - I’ve got a situation. Happy to explain, after the cops get off my back.”
