The names of the bacteria are Lactobacillus delbrueckii sub sp. bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus. They thicken the milk and create a mouth-watering sour taste. The lactic acid is produced by the process of fermentation.

Then cool the milk to 112-115°F. Add the half cup of yogurt, which contains good bacteria, such as- Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium lactis. Blend the yogurt starter with the rest of the milk. This mixes the good bacteria all through the milk. Put the milk into containers and keep in warm place for 7-9 hours. Warm temperatures are heaven for all your good bacteria and endorse their growth. Then put the jars in the refrigerator to cool and set. Yogurt will get even thicker! What is Greek yogurt? Greek yogurt is the thicker, softer, creamy yogurt found in Greece or Lebanon. It is very tasty. Also Greek yogurt contains more proteins and less sugar as compared to yogurt. How to make Greek yogurt? The process of making Greek yogurt at home. Gradually heat 1 quart of pasteurized milk to 160°F. Allow the milk to cool to 110°F. Add 2-3 Tablespoon of yogurt from the earlier yogurt and blend well. Keep the milk into jars, wrap the mixture, and keep warm it at 110°F for 5-12 hours. Let it cool for 2 hours. Keep the yogurt in the fridge for at least 6 hours. It's ready to eat.
