And David trying so hard to make him see

And Ryder being oblivious cause "isn't my best friend great? Isn't my good friend David the best? Man, that guy's awesome" is the extent of his conscious perception of their connection.

Years of cuddling, affection, protecting one another, hint after hint after hint from David, and it's reached a point where the poor caxy can't help but think

"Kissing him probably wouldn't do any good. He'd think I slipped. Kissing him twice would just make him wonder how I fell the same way both times."
