do people outside canada / north america frequent cottages?
i know cottagecore is a thing lmao but not sure how y'all define it. like, either you airbnb one or have a (usually richer) friend whose parents own one - but it's often on or near a body of water, then you go with a bunch of friends and drink, do water activities, cook together, lay in the sun, etc... one of my fave things!
my boston friend says they refer to them as lakehouses instead. and i would call it a cabin / chalet / lodge instead if you were doing something similar in the winter (activities would switch to snowshoeing, skating, chilling by the fireplace, etc.)
just wondering if it's a north american or even international thing! going to one this weekend. 🧳🌸
