He wasn't really surprised when he found out about it. He could see and feel that your family treated you poorly. It was common story in Nobles and Royals where they had mistresses and had bastard kids.

He disagrees to infidelity but he also disagrees to your family treating you like you were nothing.

He was reminded of how he treated Noelle in the past and sometimes would think that he was no better. Which was why he showers you with so much love and affection.

He always gave you anything that your family wouldn't give to you, bring you out to places you've never been to before, showed you things that you've never seen.

Of course he showers you with expensive gifts, he's Nozel Silva.

Sooner or later, your family finds out that you have a date (and a rich one at that) and they start to intervene with your affairs and not let you out to meet him, because they had plans to marry you off to some noble for the monetary sake.

When they found out your said boyfriend is actually Nozel Silva, all hell breaks loose. They start sucking up to you and him, but Nozel paid no heed to your family members.

When he found out that they kept you away from meeting him initially, Nozel goes into fury and tells them off straight in their face about how much of a trash they are. Even your parents.

Your parents were angry of course, but what could they do to Nozel Silva?

Nozel never cared about what other thought or said about you and your family background. You didn't choose to be born as a mistress child and in Nozel's eyes, you were the perfect human being.

He gave you the grandest wedding you could ever imagine and vowed to give you the best rest of your life.

Fuegoleon Vermillion

"having a mistress was your mistake, y/n is innocent" was what he said to your dad.

Fuegoleon was a man that felt he didn't have to hide any of his personal matters, that includes dating you.

When he courted you and when you eventually said yes, that was all that mattered to him. Even your family couldn't say no to him.

Your family did try to extort a huge amount of money from him. To which he disagreed and told him the above sentence.

As a righteous man himself, he felt that having a mistress was really bad. But the kid is always innocent. Why would they treat you so badly?

However as Mr Nice Guy, Fuegoelon still respects your family as your family and your parents as people that brought you up. Albeit bringing you up in harsh conditions, you were still overall healthy.

He eventually agreed to give betrothal gifts in the form of gold and jewellery to your family but warned that after you were married to him, you had nothing more to do with them.

Since they never treated you as a daughter of their family, Fuegoleon felt that this was only fair. Of course your family didn't have much choice but to agree. It was better than having nothing at all and they were getting rid of an eyesore.

After you were married, they still tried to kick a fuss saying that you were still their daughter anyhow and asked for more money. But they were fiercely rejected by Fuegoleon and his trusty salamander.

Fuegoleon never cared about status or wealth when he dated or married you. He loved you as an individual and he loved everything about you. He would protect you from your family and anything else in the world.
